Job Overview
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Review, and if appropriate, establish KPI’s to monitor performance of the assigned suppliers on a weekly / monthly / quarterly basis. Publish and discuss results with other stakeholders and create action plans
- Provide input into the monthly S&OP meeting cycle on matters related to supplier capacity, potential bottlenecks, overall tool capacity requirements etc. Ensure a feedback loop is in place to inform suppliers on decisions arising from S&OP meetings that may / will impact them
- Monitor that suppliers review monthly updates of the TE S&OP 18 month forecasts and provide guidance that allows them to give timely feedback to TE on any potential capacity issues that might arise
- Act as the key interface between suppliers and TE to communicate supply issues, business opportunities and facilitate resolution of identified demand / supply and capacity issues
- Follow TE guidelines and instructions to ensure capacity constraints identified at suppliers (potentially resulting in the need for tool / machine duplication and /or replacement) are communicated to the appropriate TE Capacity and Transfer management teams for further analysis. Track and report status and escalate issues where necessary. Support transfer decisions based on the capacity situation and trigger transfers in case of capacity bottlenecks
- Monitor impact of TE ordering behavior on suppliers and highlight to the Manager Supplier Coordination recurring examples where the Planning teams are not complying with agreed Standard Work Instructions (SWI), established planning parameters or respecting planning processes agreed with the supplier base
- Support the planning teams in constraint scenarios and play as a referee, with decision power, wherever shared resources are involved
- Draft supplier logistics contracts / agreements and review with the Legal department and others (e.g. Procurement). Obtain final sign off from Manager Supplier Coordination
- Regularly review the integrity of planning Master data in SAP with members of the Materials function and ensure action taken to maintain data quality
What your background should look like:
- Bachelor/Master’s degree in business administration, engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a planning, procurement or operations role preferably gained in the automotive sector
- Familiar with all critical manufacturing processes (molding, stamping, plating, assembly)
- Minimum 2 years prior working experience with external suppliers e.g. undertaking scorecard reviews, establishing and monitoring KPI’s.
- Demonstrable experience in logistics / supply chain planning, able to prepare logistics contracts and devise enhanced logistics solutions
- Prior experience of supplier negotiations
- Experience in identifying supplier capacity constraints, proposing appropriate allocation rules and determining long term supplier capacity needs
- Prior involvement in the S&OP process and on sharing forecast data with suppliers
