BUYER II

The Buyer Molding&Assembly is a part of EMEA Procurement Molding & Assembly Team. He/she will be located at Kuřim Czech republic. Other members of the team, is located as well in a different countries, who are responsible for the procurement of injection molded parts and assemblies. They look after suppliers nationally and internationally in full screen in different sizes. In particular, the strategy and integration of suppliers and the development and maintenance of existing vendor relationships are important tasks.

 

PositPosition Responsibilities

 

  • Buyer manages the  associated suppliers, roadmaps created for Strategy, Pricing and Performance and is both internally and externally a main point of contact for all matter relating to the supplier.
  • Constantly retains the development in the market to keep an eye on price developments, new technologies and manufacturing facilities.
  • Regular visits to suppliers, events and presentation on workshops
  • (VA/VE, SMED, Kaizen…) in and with suppliers are just a part, as well as the independent development of cost savings under the aid of other purchasing tools.

Position Qualifications

 

  • Prefer Business or Technical University Degree
  • Minimum 3 years experienced as a buyer  in Automotive or Global environmental (ideally with knowledge/experience of molding/assembly process – supply base, is a plus)
  • Strong communication and intercultural skills, willingness to travel and ability to understand and work with other countries and cultures
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications, i.e.Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint
  • Ideally, SAP knowledge as advantage
  • Excellent communication skills in English, all other languages are a plus
  • This position is as well suitable for an experienced candidate with project/transfer management or molding/assembly shopfloor engineer
Job Overview
TE Connectivity's Purchasing Teams are responsible for obtaining materials, components, equipment and services, gather quotations, examine bids, and award contracts. They perform cost analysis and volume planning for commodities, evaluate vendor reliability and develop new supply sources where required. They coordinate purchasing activities with the manufacturing and engineering departments to maintain inventory at planned levels and monitor cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value. They also look for and recommend cost saving proposals including make vs. buy analysis, alternative sourcing, and vendor evaluation criteria as well as develop specifications for new contract orders.
