Reporting to the Commercial Finance Controller and NPI Costing leader, the Commercial Analyst delivers high-quality actionable financial insights, reporting and forecasting to support Orders, Revenue, Selling Expenses and AR processes. This role partners with the Medical BU Finance, Commercial, Product Management, Strategy, FSC, Commercial Operations and Customer service teams.

Your main tasks:

Revenue Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare monthly revenue flash files and provide actionable insights.
  • Maintain revenue and standard margin databases (actual, forecast and R&O) to facilitate analysis of key drivers of results, perform R&O analysis, and drive actionable insights into business team.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual revenue walks by customer/therapy/end programs for executive level presentations.
  • Support Strategic Plan and long-range revenue analysis.
  • Complete quarter-end deliverables for revenue reporting including organic revenue growth driver reporting, therapy scorecards, and Finance SIOP presentations.
  • Periodic post launch NPI revenue audits and other ad hoc reporting.

Selling & Commercial Expenses

  • Monthly and quarterly actuals versus forecast reporting and driving actionable insights thereon into business to maintain cost control.
  • Build bottoms-up annual and quarterly forecasts and presentations to align and achieve cost targets.
  • Partner with sales operations team to track team performance on SIP and PMIP bonus plan components; calculate month-end accruals and liaise with FSC to post.

Orders & Backlog

  • Partner with Commercial Operations team to deliver on monthly/quarterly orders and backlog commitments including completion of book/bill, order coverage, and bookings and backlog reporting. 

Accounts Receivable

  • Partner with FSC and Customer Service to produce a weekly AR Tracker.
  • Lead escalation actions to drive resolution of past dues and DSO metrics.

Ad Hoc & Leadership Support

  • Execute LT-driven analysis requests.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities.

Your ideal background:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, or related field. 5+ years related work experience.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, for a senior management audience.
  • Experience in supporting or regular interaction with various levels of management.
  • Strong analytical skills: able to break down complex problems and develop / recommend solutions.
  • Highly organized and able to work on multiple projects that will vary widely in scope, size, and type.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced knowledge of data analysis functions. Experience with SAP, TED, IBP a plus.
  • Ability to manage recurring cycles and competing deadlines.
  • Initiative-taking problem-solver with curiosity for insights.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information.
