Job Overview


The Sourcing Analyst at TE Connectivity is responsible for driving cost savings on direct purchase components by developing and executing multi-year sourcing strategies that align with business unit objectives. This includes optimizing supplier performance in areas such as quality, delivery, price, and service. The Sourcing Analyst leads competitive bids, negotiations, and contracting processes, collaborating with cross-functional teams such as engineering, manufacturing, product management, finance, and operations to ensure alignment and optimize TE’s supply chain.

 

The role involves building and sustaining robust relationships with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers, while managing the full sourcing process, including RFQ package preparation, price negotiations, terms and conditions, and contract management. The Sourcing Analyst also conducts Should Cost analysis, supplier performance evaluations, and market analysis to identify cost reduction and risk mitigation opportunities.

 

Additionally, the analyst ensures adherence to global processes, policies, and best practices, maintains data integrity in ERP systems, and provides regular performance reports to upper management. With strong decision-making and project management skills, the Sourcing Analyst takes the lead in driving strategic sourcing projects to successful outcomes while ensuring compliance with TE’s policies.

Description of the primary work duties and major responsibilities:


•Drive cost savings on direct purchase components through competitive bids, negotiations, and strategic supplier partnerships, optimizing pricing, quality, delivery, and service.
•Develops and execute 3-5 year category strategies ensuring alignment with plant and BU objectives
•Lead sourcing steps and resolve supply disruptions while ensuring adherence to global processes, policies, and best practices.
•Lead sourcing steps and act as the primary contact for escalations, ensuring actions are communicated to stakeholders
•Builds strong relationships and lead development plans with strategic suppliers to optimize performance.
•Develop and Execute Should Cost analysis, supplier performance metrics, market trends, and other data sources to proactively provide actionable insights for cost and risk reduction opportunities.
•Manage data integrity in ERP systems, ensuring accuracy of Info Records, Source List, and Lead Times.
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams, identify and drive opportunities, ensure project reaches successful conclusions. 
•Ensures and promotes adherence to global processes, policies, procedures, best practices within TE and extensive to supply base
•Develops and/or executes Should cost analysis.
•Be a positive and proactive role model, offering guidance and support when needed.
•Periodic reporting to upper management on objectives performance.
 

What your background should look like:

•2+ years’ Experience in field, previous experience in Procurement or Supplier Quality is required.
•Bachelor’s degree (Business management, finance, engineering preferred)
•Procurement analytical skills in: LPP analysis, Currency and Material analysis, Market analysis, Part Cost Breakdown analysis, RFQ analysis, etc
•Very Strong analytical and computer-skills, with an understanding of finance and cost analysis to determine component price competitiveness 
•Experience in Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Office/Teams, ERP procurement applications. Global Shop or SAP knowledge is a plus
•Experience in machining, EPC procurement, Government contracts is a plus
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills (Fluent in English language)
•Self-starter with Project Management experience and ability to drive action items and results
•Experience in contract negotiation, contract review, and contract management.
•Solid communication and presentation skills, will be presenting to upper management (Sr. Mgrs. and Directors)
•Strong decision-making skills & critical thinking, with understanding of prioritization and “Sense of Urgency”
