Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Distribution & Logistics Teams manage the efficient flow of goods, services and information between point of origin through customer placement in order to meet customer requirements or internal business objectives. They create integrated processes among internal functions such as operations, purchasing and logistics, and outside suppliers. They also focus resources on continuous improvement of the movement of materials through various production processes, and establish key performance metrics and benchmarks relating to supply chain planning/forecasting to measure actual performance against goals on a regular basis.

ROLE OBJECTIVE 
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Air & Ocean Logistics Specialist to join our Global Logistics (GLOG) Team in EMEA.
The main objectives for the successful candidate are to drive productivity and achieve cost reduction opportunities and mitigation actions. This key role in our supply chain requires strong engagement and close co-operation with freight forwarders and internal stakeholders to streamline logistics processes.
This position will report to Global Logistics Regional Transportation Manager.


MAIN KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 
•    Lead transportation projects in cross-functional teams to find and implement efficiencies and cost savings within transportation.
•    Continuous review and enhance global transportation flows with the focus on consolidation, reduce shipment frequency and size across air and ocean modes.
•    Actively participate in global RFQ’s with GLOG freight team.
•    Effectively communicate with internal BU customers and freight forwarders.
•    Carrier KPI management, driving freight forwarder cost down productivity. 
•    Align closely with GLOG regional and global freight team.
•    Air & Ocean rate and invoice approvals. 
•    Work with freight forwarders on sustainability solutions and reporting for EMEA region.
•    Source alternative mode solutions and align with BU’s and implement. 
•    Engage with internal auditing functions (FAP – Freight Audit & Payment) and freight forwarder on missing rates on trade lanes/sport pricing. Work with both teams to improve data quality. 
•    Identify cost saving projects in close alignment with GLOG Regional Transportation Lead.

Qualifications/Requirements:

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE
•    Preferred: degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
•    Fluency in English is a prerequisite for this position.

CRITICAL EXPERIENCE
•    5+ years’ experience in commercial & operational Air & Ocean Freight Logistics. 
•    In-depth knowledge of international supply chain operations and market rate levels.
•    Strong understanding of Air & Ocean Freight Operations.
•    Familiarity with industry best practices and emerging trends in air and ocean logistics.
•    Skilled MS Office user (Excel / Word / PowerPoint). Power BI / Tableau user an advantage.
