SR SUPPLIER DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Quality and Reliability Engineering Teams analyze the ability of product and production systems to comply with customer and contractual requirements through established reliability factors. They design, recommend revisions and install quality control systems, develop and document analytical methods for establishing reliability of products and their components and conduct analysis on relative reliability with regards to cost, structure, weight, maintainability, facility of production, and availability of materials and equipment. Out teams develop, implement and monitor company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health and safety regulations and recommend corrective actions if necessary. They are responsible for policies and practices to comply with applicable government regulations and industry requirements related to product environmental compliance, the implementation and management of technical and testing standards and specifications, quality control and reliability programs governing materials, product and processes, resulting in the optimization of material and labor, as well as failure analysis, root cause, corrective action and customer communication.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support the ICT procurement team in the identification of suitable and quality capable suppliers with a focus on TE Connectivity Elmec products / PDU products.
  • Perform VDA 6.3 potential analysis / process audits at TE suppliers 
  • Identify gaps at the suppliers, and develop and execute trainings 
  • Perform process and system audit of suppliers and maintain a working knowledge of ISO9001, and IATF quality systems requirements to support the suppliers.
  • One voice to the supplier for technical issues supporting TE Connectivity Industrial Commercial Transportation business. 
  • Review and monitor quality data within the operating systems to ensure that the KPI of the suppliers are meeting their goals
  • Supports in supplier quality escalations and drives corrective actions with the suppliers
  • Communicate quality concerns to suppliers (initiate TECHS complaint), SQ environment and plant
  • Initiate, track, review and close supplier 8Ds
  • Communicate corrective actions / claim status to customers (if supplier is responsible)
  • Setup containment actions / Confirm certified stock
  • Evaluate and release sustaining PPAP`s from suppliers
  • Discuss and align Quality Assurance agreements / contracts with suppliers
  • Assure that supplier parts meet TE customer requirements
  • EMEA travel will be required (30%- 50%)

What your background should look like:

 

  • Bachelor/Master Degree
  • At least 5 years of experience in quality or supplier quality 
  • Experience in the Automotive Industry
  • Certified VDA 6.3 Auditor is a plus 
  • Certified IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 Auditor is a plus
  • Excellent knowledge in PPAP, FMEA, MSA, capability analysis and all other APQP tools
  • Complaint handling (8D method), including Ishikawa / 5Why
  • Ability to work in matrix environment with multi-cultural team
  • Experience in reading and understanding complex drawings
  • Advanced knowledge in the use of SAP (mandatory) and Microsoft Office, i.e. Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint
  • Fluent in English writing and speaking / German is a big advantage
  • Driving license is required
