WHY YOU SHOULD JOIN:
TE Connectivity's Purchasing Teams are responsible for obtaining materials, components, equipment and services, gather quotations, examine bids, and award contracts. They perform cost analysis and volume planning for commodities, evaluate vendor reliability and develop new supply sources where required. They coordinate purchasing activities with the manufacturing and engineering departments to maintain inventory at planned levels and monitor cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value. They also look for and recommend cost saving proposals including make vs. buy analysis, alternative sourcing, and vendor evaluation criteria as well as develop specifications for new contract orders.
YOUR MAIN TASKS:
- Outsourcing molding and assembly services at relevant suppliers, thus helping to secure optimal production for TE Connectivity
- Permanently tracking and reporting of cost savings and cost avoidances under the aid of other purchasing tools (e-Auctions, Game Theory Negotiations, RFQ / RFI etc.
- Management of the associated suppliers, including regular international trips to suppliers, events and presentation on workshops
- Be a main point of contact for all matters related to suppliers
- Observing development in the market to keep an eye on price developments, new technologies and manufacturing facilities
- Creation of roadmaps for Strategy, Pricing and Performance together with the manager
YOUR IDEAL BACKGROUND:
- Experience as a buyer in international company
- Communicative and hands-on approach
- Ability to negotiate with suppliers
- Working knowledge of MS Office, mainly Powerpoint and Excel
- Fluency in English
- Willingness to travel regularly abroad to suppliers
- Previous experience in strategic procurement from automotive company is strongly preferred but not a must
