Job Overview


The TE Connectivity Energy Business Unit is currently seeking for a Senior Manager Professional Services EMEA to lead pre sales, post sales, tender management, design and consulting services as well as technical support. This is a new role and we will centralize the resource under this new leadership position. This role will report to the regional Vice President and General Manager of the Energy business unit. 
In this role, you will build a new services organization, monetize the offering and provide customer intimacy from concept to implementation phase of projects, will serve on the EMEA leadership team and report to the regional Vice President and General Manager. The energy business unit sells low to high voltage products to connect cables, protect and insulate power equipment.

Long Description


You will have experience delivering services in a measurable way – always looking to improve customer satisfaction, market share, productivity and efficiency of the operation through scalable processes and improved methodology.

Tender Management:
•    Create a new central utility tender team by reallocating resources from the sales team
•    Proactively engage all stakeholders to improve our product approval rate, increase our margin through better product selection and ultimately increase our market share

Renewables / Industrial Project Management:
•    Create a new renewables / industrial project management team for our EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) customers
•    Drive process improvements throughout the supply chain to meet the EPC lead time and project milestones
•    Review manufacturer’s data to determine extent of scope for electrical portion of solar project; including wiring requirements and electrical characteristics (i.e. grounding requirements, power factor ranges, lightning protection requirements, generator outputs, etc.)
•    Manage and lead the electrical engineering design and equipment procurement through use of submittals, transmittals, and requests for information

Engineering Services:
•    Own our utility training centers (France, Germany) and maximize the revenue
•    Take responsibility of the technical sales engineers in the field and try to monetize our services
•    Build a new commercial solar PV services team
o    Design all aspects of solar PV systems, including 1-line diagrams, array layouts, fence layout, road layout, string size calculations, module selection, ground coverage ratio, inverter selection, inverter power factor requirements, inverter loading ratio, and cable sizing.
o    Perform energy performance modeling using PVSyst software. Primary use is of PVSyst, but some knowledge of NREL System Advisor Model (SAM) and Plant Predict is required.

What your background should look like:


•    7 years+ experience in utility tender and EPC project bidding.
•    Relevant experience to monetize services
•    Have in depth Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) industry knowledge with focus on Renewables and Industrial Verticals
•    Education or experience with power systems analysis and design
•    Approximately 5 – 10 years of experience in the electrical engineering of electrical power/distribution systems, particularly renewable energy facilities
•    Functional expertise with CYMCAP for cable ampacity analysis
•    Functional expertise with power systems modeling software such as PVSyst, ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSSE, PSLF, or similar software
•    Functional expertise with performance of electrical system studies – load flow and reactive power, short circuit, cable ampacity analysis,
•    Experience of managing across countries and cultures.
•    Strong business acumen.
•    Demonstrate strong business development, leadership, teambuilding and coaching skills.
•    Demonstrate ability to motivate teams and develop employee skills.
•    Analytical and decision making skills.
•    Highly motivated and results driven.
•    Degree in engineering, related field or equivalent experience

•    Good organisational and communication skills, both written and oral
