Project Manager, Business Development Excellence

Job Overview

TE Industrial is ~ $2B global business unit within IS (Industrial Solutions) Segment, with a full-fledged P&L. The Strategy and Business Development (SBD) team is responsible for ideation, development and championing of our highest potential growth opportunities. The team plays the role of trusted advisors to the executive team and plays a pivotal role in identifying and developing opportunities to achieve our vision on portfolio expansion and growth. The Project Manager, SBD Excellence will join Industrial BU as a member of the SBD team, reporting to the SBD Business Excellence Manager.

 

With a broad product portfolio, global manufacturing footprint, and strong OEM customer relationships across all key regions, TE is among the leaders in the market. The SBD function leads the development and execution of strategy to maximizing TE’s growth and market share globally in the priority end markets. The Project Manager, SBD Excellence will support accelerated development and adoption of new front-end processes and ways of working and execution of the key growth actions. As part of these activities the Project Manager will interfaces with all relevant business function, in particular with product management, sales, marketing, finance and operations. The Project Manager is responsible for project and change management for effective rollout and execution of application strategies and capability building initiatives within Industrial BU. This manager will assist the global SBD Managers in the deployment and continuous development of all aspects of the SBD process as well as any other SBD initiatives.

 

The Project Manager is also responsible for supporting a variety of reporting, analytics, system, and administrative tasks. Furthermore, the Project Manager will also act as the PMO for the SBD function, so the responsibility includes the definition and tracking of projects needed to reach SBD business objectives and goals.

Key Tasks:

  • Support SBD Business Excellence Manager in process and playbook development, documentation and roll-out
  • Development of processes and tools to disseminate and feed analytics to manage SBD execution
  • Support SBD Managers in driving execution and tracking progress of key actions to deliver on SBD business objectives  
  • Manage projects to drive required improvements and changes
  • Drive continuous improvement in execution by proactively collecting feedback and improving project management tools, processes and cadence 
  • Work collaboratively across various functions of the organization 

What your background should look like:

The ideal candidate will have a considerable experience in project management and process improvement as well as good knowledge of principles. 

 

The candidate must demonstrate the following:

  • 4+ years of professional experience on project management
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time globally
  • Bachelor’s degree or above; formal project management, continuous improvement
  • Fluency in English
  • Successful track record in project management or PMO roles 
  • Liaison with global teams 
  • Have a clear understanding of tools and practices in Salesforce, be familiar with Tableau and proficient in Excel
  • Capable of working both as part of a virtual team and co locate when necessary
  • Have had a diverse history of concurrently managing both complex and streamlined projects and programs
  • Experience in managing with different levels of team competency across different functions and cultures
  • Be versed in business intelligence and report creation
  • Understanding of managing scope and requirements management driven from stakeholder management
  • Strong project management planning, organizing and documentation skills
  • Self-motivation, requiring minimal supervision
  • An understanding of financial models and metrics
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills 
  • Proficient in conflict resolution
