Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Financial Planning & Analysis Teams develop, interpret and implement financial concepts for financial planning and control. They perform technical analysis to determine present and future financial performance. They gather, analyze, prepare and summarize recommendations for financial plans, acquisition activity, trended future requirements and operating forecasts. The Financial Planning & Analysis Teams also perform economic research and studies in the areas of rates of return, depreciations, working capital requirements, investment opportunities, investment performance and impact of governmental requirements.

The Device subvertical (part of the Industrial Business Unit) is currency seeking a FP&A Analyst – Operations role.  The global operations footprint for Device includes facilities in China and Mexico, a large network of outsourced suppliers and the recently acquired operational activities of the ERNI business (in Germany and Thailand).  The successful candidate will be joining the business at a very exciting stage in its development, during a period of high growth driven by both organic business expansion from a strong market coupled with a compelling product portfolio and market share gains and the recent acquisition of the ERNI business, which will be integrated and managed as part of the Device organization.

Role, responsibilities and challenges:

•            Financial responsibilities include support of monthly close: journal entries, variance analysis, and account reconciliations.
•            Prepare and deliver ad-hoc and month-end analysis and recommendations on all operations finance areas including but not limited to productivity, inventory, scrap, costing and expenses.
•            Perform variance analysis including work orders, labor rates, volume and cost center spending and purchase price variances. 
•            Provide monthly analysis on gross margin to completely understand variances of actual results, identifying and quantifying trends that can be expected to continue and one time impacts that won’t.
•            Assist in calculating cost savings and measuring projects, reporting of KPIs and COPQ.
•            Provide support to operations by reviewing and understanding data: work centers, routers, costing roll ups and maintaining data integrity.
•            Assist in the annual standard setting/product costing and ongoing costing with New Product Introductions.
•            Support the wall to wall annual stock count.
•            Support the annual cost roll, assessing and proactively communicating the impact to the relevant stakeholders.
•            Effectively partner with Operations, Commercial Finance, Controlling, FP&A and other Operations finance colleagues.
•            Drive continuous improvement through TEOA-F
 

What your background should look like:

•            Prior experience working with a global, matrixed team
•            General finance experience including financial analysis, financial modelling, forecasting, budgeting reporting, and manufacturing costing, including a good understanding of TE’s financial forecast and close cycles and deliverables
•            Prior operations finance experience preferred, preferably in a plant setting
•            Understanding of cost accounting, cost analysis, and reporting matters
•            Knowledge of standard costing methodology/variance analysis; Understanding of productivity/flex of volume and spend
•            Understanding of manufacturing, procurement, and other supply chain matters; Understanding of financial drivers and their impact within a manufacturing environment
•            Understanding of S&OP process (interdependency of sales, output, inventory)
