GLOBAL TRADE SERVICES ANALYST

Overview:

TE Connectivity Group established the Global Trade Services (GTS) organization which is responsible and accountable for Trade Compliance as it is becoming increasingly important in the current geopolitical circumstance. We are looking for a Global Trade Services Analyst - Japan to join the Customs and Corporate Service Center (CCS) responsible for the internal operation of Customs procedures and Trade Compliance in the APAC region.

This position will participate in Customs and Trade-related projects conducted by all TE facilities in Japan and will be responsible for data management of related internal systems, a contact point for approval of internal trade related decisions, planning of education and training programs, and preparation of application documents to Government authorities and related organizations. It is an important role of Trade Compliance practices for TE business in APAC region. 

The position will be assigned under the Regional Senior Manager of the Customs and Corporate Services Center overseeing the APAC region and will work with the Trade Compliance Manager in Japan to provide business solutions for Global Trade Management and Compliance.

Job Description:

CCS supports TE Connectivity Japan and our business partners in terms of Trade Compliance with import/export operations and trade-related operations in Japan.

Responsibility】

- In-house system product and business partner data management (trade-related items)

- In-house flow related to determine Classification and Transaction screening check

- Customs procedures such as payment of Import Duty and GST (in collaboration with the Finance team)

- Planning and implementation of education and training programs related to Trade Compliance
- Assistance to the Internal auditors related to Trade Compliance

・Application for notification to relevant Authorities (export license, valuation declaration, certificate of origin)

・Responding to consultations from internal and external stakeholders regarding Trade Management

Qualification:

【Required】

- Experience in Trade Compliance or Customs operations (3 years or more)

- Basic PC skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.)

- English proficiency (level of reading and writing English e-mails, understanding English speeches and e-learning materials)

- Communication skills, information dissemination skills, and problem-solving skills

 

【Nice to Have】

- Experience in managing information on internal systems (experienced SAP users are welcomed)

- Experience in negotiating with Government authorities such as Customs, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism

- Structural understanding of trade-related Laws and Regulations

- Experience in creating documents such as company policies, standard operating procedures, and contracts

- Experience in Kaizen projects such as DX (Digital Transformation)

- Work experience in electronics, automobile, auto parts manufacturing, Customs broker, or international logistics

・Holders of trade-related qualifications (Customs registered agent, Trade Advisors, STC Experts, Aviation Security Education and Training Instructors, etc.)
