Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Continuous Improvement Teams design and implement programs and projects to improve products, services, or processes aligned with business strategies. They coach teams; establish program performance metrics; and establish process excellence.

 

Responsible for developing and deploying Continuous Improvement (TEOA) throughout the Value Streams to drive flawless execution with TEOA tools and methods that are flexible, reliable, and responsive. Implements under the direction of the Manufacturing Engineering Manage. The TEOA system ensures a safe work environment, drives quality improvements, provides customer service, develops a qualified workforce, and reduces operating costs, inventories, and lead times through continuous improvement in the site systems. Partners with the production management team to oversee day-to-day activities to meet daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual operational and financial expectations.  
 
This position requires access to information which is subject to stringent controls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident.  


Essential duties include but may not be limited to the following: 

 

  • Implementation, coordination, and evaluation of TEOA within the manufacturing processes to eliminate waste and achieve targets. 
  • Overseeing the production management teams under the direction of the manufacturing engineering manager the inclusion of improvement recommendations into the TEOA System Design. 
  • Aides the development and utilization of current and future state value stream maps to identify  projects and corresponding rolling 6-month implementation plans that are aligned with the company’s  direction. 
  • Foster the adoption of continuous improvement as a way life, creating a culture of change. 
  • Works with internal and external suppliers and customers on improving the total enterprise using the TEOA system. 
  • Assist in defining and aides standardized programs to educate employees in the principles of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing. 
  • Under the direction of the manufacturing engineering manager support the identification of production requirements within the manufacturing processes ensuring alignment on needed capacity and priorities to achieve manufacturing goals along with the development and deployment of appropriate planning, replenishment, and signaling tools and methodologies aligned with PFEP. 

What your background should look like:

Required Qualifications: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering. 
  • 3 years’ experience in continuous improvement in manufacturing environment. 
  • Strong executive presence to be an influential force on peers, higher management, as well as customers. 
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software, ERP systems, and other relevant engineering tools. 
  • Strong cross collaboration and team building skills with a passion to develop and coach team members. 
  • Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or Black Belt), preferred. 
  • Strong investigative and problem-solving abilities, with a results-oriented approach. 
  • In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and production techniques.


Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Exposure to high mix with low volume manufacturing environments. 
  • AS9100 management exposure. 
  • Experience in project management, with a solid understanding of project management principles and methodologies. 
  • Experience of continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment of electrical optical connectors serving department of defense and/or oil and gas clients.

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: :$70,160 – 105,240 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
