Job Overview
Leads the strategic sourcing function for assigned commodities and suppliers in Japan, with accountability for cost competitiveness, supplier performance, supply continuity, and process excellence. This role develops and executes sourcing strategies, strengthens supplier capability, and partners closely with quality, engineering, operations, finance, and global procurement teams to deliver business results and support long-term growth.
Job Requirements
- Build an integrated and competitive supply base that supports business growth, operational resilience, and long-term sourcing effectiveness.
- Drive procurement process improvements that increase effectiveness, efficiency, and compliance across the sourcing organization.
- Own key supplier performance metrics for productivity, quality, delivery, and risk management across the assigned supply base.
- Establish long-term commodity strategies and supplier footprint plans, with particular focus on metal and stamping commodities.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to identify cost-reduction opportunities and develop a high-performing, cost-competitive supplier base.
- Develop strategic sourcing organization aiming to support short term&long term business needs
What your background should look like
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field, Engineering or business-related majors are preferred
- Robust sourcing or procurement experience in automotive or industrial manufacturing companies with at least 5 years managing role
- Strong leadership to drive the good result in cost saving, supplier risk management and others
- Excellent people coaching and team development capability with mid&large team management experience
- Solid communication and influencing skills with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
- Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken, to collaborate effectively in a global environment
