Molding Operator I - Sorting

Job Overview

Our sorting group visually inspects plastic molded housings produced in the injection molding operation. Inspection is intended to separate conforming and non-conforming components intended to meet engineering and customer specifications.

 

Primary Responsibilities
•    Visually inspect plastic molded housings for non-fills, cracks, broken steel, and other non-conformities and complete associated paperwork.
•    As required use go/no-go gaging, gage pins, and microscopes to inspect the molded housings according to the instructions from quality engineering.
•    Record sorting results data, scrap data, inspections completed, and general comments
•    Continuously clean workstation area of parts, pellets, and waste per 5S+1 standards at the end of each shift.
•    Adhere to all standard safety requirements and wear recommended personal protective equipment at all times in the production areas.
•    Attend daily GO meetings 
•    Repack and relabel finished good containers if necessary
•    Moisturize product
•    Weight count and *hand count product 
•    Move product to specific holding or staging areas

What your background should look like:

•    Must be able to use microscope to inspect parts
•    Must be able to follow instructions and standard procedure to complete sorting tasks
 

Physical Requirements:

•    Must be able to lift a maximum weight of 30 lbs.
•    Must be able to push a maximum weight for 45 lbs.
•    Must be able to pull a maximum weight of 55 lbs. 
•    Frequently extending hands and arms between knees and shoulder level
•    Frequently sitting and bending
•    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision (@ 20 inches or less) for small objects, color vision (must pass a color blindness test), and ability to adjust focus
