Job Overview

Responsible for overseeing logistics improvement projects for the Americas logistics team, including strategic planning and implementation to improve the efficiency of the supply chain for both internal and external customers. This position will support in planning, coordinating, implementing and monitoring the various projects insuring the leanest global logistics operation for the Americas sites

Job Requirements

• Develop and maintain a predictable freight cost model that can be used to help accurate forecasting and site decision making. 
• Gather data and provide freight reports to track inbound and outbound standard and premium spend by region, site, carrier, lane and service type to give the team the ability to find opportunities to improve freight costs.  
• Develop, implement and manage logistics solutions with the goal of creating a leaner supply chain. 
• Work with various departments such as business development, field support and customer service, to handle complaints and ensure support plans are established to preserve long-term relationships with customers. 
• Ensure that vendors and business partners have a clear understanding of logistics operations requirements and guidelines, including suppliers, 3PL, warehousing, transportation and other service providers. Measure and insure they are and stay up to TE quality standards. 
• Serve as liaison with all internal and external partners for daily operational activities; quote, track, analyze and communicate the best transportation practices. Create and publish key performance metrics and use root cause analysis and troubleshooting for all logistics operations. 
• Coordinate the implementation and maintenance of customer/supplier shipping instructions and routings to ensure they are up to date. 
• Monitors and reports on supplier compliance to the Global Routing Guide. Assist to expedite inbound or outbound freight, research for the best cost beneficial solutions. 
• Audit and resolve billing discrepancies.  Interact with TE’s 3rd party freight payment company to ensure proper billing, on time payment and accurate cost reporting. Approve freight invoices via an online process.  
• Understands internal cost centers/GL accounts and with support from TE Finance maintain rules for allocation of freight costs. 

What your background should look like

Education:  
BS/BA degree required; International trade/business or related. 

Experience: Five years in Customs & Logistics related supervisor/coordinator role

Qualifications: 
• Knowledge of CTPAT 
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. 
• Advanced knowledge on analytics and administrative tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, 
Access) 
• Knowledge of SAP and MFG Pro (preferably). 
• Understanding of key performance metrics. 
• Verifiable change agent and facilitator with excellent problem-solving skills and leadership. 
• Proven ability to work in teams with strong initiative to win. 
• Excellent oral and written communication and influential skills. 
• Motivated self-starter will have to work with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively 
with multiple departments utilizing excellent interpersonal skills. 
• Able to demonstrate TE’s core values, should always strive to act in an ethical and respectful manner. 
• Strong experience in implementation and management of programs / projects with a winning record. 
• Global Mindset should be able to communicate across borders to deliver results. 
• General knowledge on hazmat regulations
