What your background should look like
The Sr. Systems Engineer - Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) & Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) serves as the site Subject Matter Expert (SME) for digital manufacturing solutions at TE Connectivity Juarez. This role is responsible for designing, deploying, and optimizing MES and IIoT technologies to drive digital transformation, operational excellence, standardization, and scalability across manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Digital Manufacturing & Project Management.
- Lead digital factory projects and smart manufacturing initiatives for the Juarez site.
- Drive MES deployment, standardization, harmonization, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Support the development and execution of TE's digital manufacturing strategy.
- Manage User Acceptance Testing (UAT), deployment validation, and application lifecycle support.
- MES & IIoT Solutions
- Serve as the local Subject Matter Expert for MES and IIoT platforms.
- Define and implement machine connectivity strategies using industrial communication protocols such as OPC UA, Ethernet, MQTT, and TCP/IP.
- Develop and deploy IIoT applications and digital manufacturing solutions.
- Enable end-to-end manufacturing traceability and ensure data integrity across production processes.
- Systems Integration & Data Analytics
- Integrate MES solutions with ERP systems (SAP), SCADA platforms, PLCs, and manufacturing data platforms.
- Analyze production and operational data to identify improvement opportunities and provide actionable business insights.
- Develop dashboards, reports, and visualization tools to support operational decision making.
- Support data architecture, ETL processes, and large-scale manufacturing data management.
- Align stakeholders and drive collaboration across multiple functions and regions.
- Compliance & Governance.
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity, quality, environmental, and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in MES, industrial automation, digital manufacturing, or related areas.
- Proven experience leading digital factory transformation initiatives.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including stamping, molding, plating, assembly, testing, and related operations.
- Experience working with cross-functional and global teams.
Technical Skills
- Manufacturing Systems.
- Expertise in MES platforms such as HYDRA, Siemens Opcenter, Rockwell FactoryTalk, SAP ME/MII, or similar systems.
- Strong understanding of industrial automation and machine connectivity.
- Experience with IIoT platforms and technologies, including ThingWorx and Edge solutions.
- Data & Analytics.
- Programming knowledge in Python, SQL, C#, or similar languages.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and cloud-based data platforms.
- Understanding of ETL processes and big data environments.
- Cloud & Connectivity.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and AWS.
- Certifications related to MES, IIoT, cloud technologies, or industrial automation are considered a plus.
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills.
