Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Continuous Improvement Teams design and implement programs and projects to improve products, services, or processes aligned with business strategies. They coach teams; establish program performance metrics; and establish process excellence supports.

The "Sr. Manager, Continuous Improvement / TEOA (TE Operations Advantage) Regional Leader" will be responsible for leading and guiding the TEOA deployment strategic plan for assigned region within the Automotive business unit in the Americas region. She/he will apply the lean knowledge in all operations areas, such as production, quality, material, maintenance, environment, safety, purchasing and others to address improvements in the service model and productivity across regions. This is a full-time position reporting directly to the Americas VP of Auto Operations and will be based in one of our manufacturing facilities within region of responsibility.
 

Responsibilities

- Overall TEOA lead for base site, driving their TEOA journey while supporting other TEOA site leads within their respective region.
- Create a comprehensive strategy/plan for the region of responsibility, highlighting milestones to achieve a world class operation, through the deploying of TEOA programs. (TEOA Star Level progression)
- Create, plan, lead and follow-up of the TEOA implementation plan and ensure TEOA actions are visual to stakeholders and are driven to a sustainable closure. (Sustainable execution of strategy)
- Facilitate TEOA Kaizen events throughout the based site and support TEOA leaders of sites within the region.
- Support and mentor-based sites TEOA Practitioners / Kaizen Facilitators to enable them to succeed in the TEOA deployment. (Internal to local site)
- Assist in defining and support TEOA standardized programs to educate employees in the principles of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing.
- Build talent within the sites, driving a training program from Novice to Masters of TEOA.
- Foster the adoption of continuous improvement as a way life; creating a culture of change. TEOA Everywhere.
- Create a comprehensive strategy/plan for the region of responsibility, highlighting milestones to achieve a world class operation Industry 4.0, through the deploying of Digital Factory systems and projects. IoT and business value creation through digital tools.
- Lead and drive Digital Factory initiatives and transformation in AMS Region.
- Support gross margin and productivity (conversion and material) targets as well as digital factory enabled savings targets
- Collaborate across regions with the Global TEOA community and best practice sharing
- Represent Auto AMS region in Global TEOA Network

Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field
- Fluent in English both spoken and written 
- Automotive Experience working in Tier 1 or OEMs
- Six Sigma Master Black Belt preferred
- Previous experience leading and transforming operations at multiple sites or value stream level is essential.
- Strong background in lean practices, experience in using value stream mapping and implementing lean tools, such as: 5S+1, Visual Factory, Standard Work, Quick Changeover and TPM essential.

- Excellent communication and coaching skills at all levels from the shop floor to top management
- Working knowledge of the manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, injection molding, stamping, plating, compound/extrusion/finishing, and/or assembly
- Strong team leader, ability to think strategically and execute tactically to deliver results
- Analytically, data-driven and problem-solving mindset
- Ability to have a holistic overview of complex situations and flexibility to deal effectively with difficult issues when they arise
- The role has a heavy emphasis on supporting/coaching Plant Managers, TEOA Leaders and influence Operations Leaders to ensure significant improvements in the operations metrics
