The Aerospace, Defense and Marine (AD&M) business unit of TE is part of the Industrial Solutions segment -- a world leader in the design of components and electrical interconnection solutions that are used for applications in extreme and harsh environments. Job Overview

Support product sustaining/design activities associated with AD&M Mil-Aero Connectors specially focused in contacts (terminals) applications. This individual will work closely with manufacturing, operations, procurement, quality, product management, customer service and other functions as required to develop and sustain products. It is essential for this individual to be capable of and enjoy working with multiple projects and manage them to completion as required by the business.

What your background should look like:

Qualifications:

  • Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering degree
  • 2 - 4 years engineering experience, preferably in product design or Metal-Mechanic Manufacturing such as stamping, machining, metal forming
  • Fully Bilingual English-Spanish
  • Experience with CREO or SolidWorks design software
  • Strong mechanical and material analysis; troubleshooting skills
  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office programs and SAP
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
  • Ability to travel to domestically and to the US as required for training and to support projects
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Must be a self-managed team player with superior time management skills
  • Understand good engineering principles and design practices
  • Familiar with Aerospace specifications and standards
  • GDT – Geometric Tolerances / stack up analysis experience, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma environment preferred

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Understands all product requirements as documented by TE, customer, industry, and military specifications for contacts.
  • Design/Redesign products in order to solve a customer complaint, manufacturing issue, or to support cost reduction efforts
  • Determine level of product qualification testing required for tool moves, new tools, new suppliers, and design changes
  • Initiate and execute Engineering Changes to support product manufacturability. This may include updating drawings and models
  • Perform engineering analyses using computer aided engineering (CAE) tools available
  • Review non-conforming material requests for product form, fit, function requirements
  • Provide root cause and corrective action assistance on design related issues which have resulted in customer complaints, manufacturing, or supplier rejections
  • Support Procurement in the development of new suppliers
  • Participates in A3 problem solving teams for design related issues, attends Tier Meetings, Material Review Board, and Fast Response Board problem solving of customer and supplier issues
