Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Materials Planning Teams are responsible for the plans, schedules, and monitoring of the movement of material through the production cycle. They determine quantity and order date for materials to meet production or engineering schedules, initiate purchase or production requisitions compliant with supply agreements, and develop the schedule to be used in the production facility based on forecasts and historical analysis. The Team develops specifications for new contract orders as well as forecasts and plans for labor requirements. They provide timely and accurate input on supplier performance and may be asked to participate in higher level supplier performance reviews with the strategic sourcing team. They also monitor cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities & Qualifications:

- Translate projected forecasts, incoming volume, and work scopes into a production plan with a time-phased build schedule.

- Work with customer base to determine weekly inbound forecast and develop consumption models to improve accuracy.

- Owns the accuracy and management of the Plan for Every Part, to include the Kanban and works with the value stream manager to ensure the PFEP supports efficient manufacturing operations.

- Establishes Every Part Every Interval (EPEI) in conjunction with the value stream manager

- Schedule demand based on the product mix and provide accurate commitment dates to customer service team across multiple product lines

- Assemble master schedule reporting regarding performance to the business plan, the shipment plan, and the inventory plan,

- Provide input to finance on operating plans for the sales and operations planning (S&OP) process, concerning incoming volume and capacity

- Identify current planned level of demand and create tactical production plans to meet the identified customer demand. Calculate production lead times.

- Manage load leveling and bottleneck scheduling and utilize theory of constraints (TOC) for more accurate scheduling.

- Coordinate information with other functional staff, including customer service, engineering, accounting, and human resources.

- Determine available capacity before planned orders are released.

- Engage in capacity management during sales and operations planning, master scheduling, materials requirements planning, and production activity control.

- Understand capacity management relationship to MRP.

- Ability to solve complex, technical manufacturing and logistics problems using personal knowledge, (ERP/APO) systems and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Supply Chain Management;

- ERP/MRP User (SAP/Oracle);

- Materials and Supply Chain certifications;

- Experience with Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) best practices

- APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) a plus.

- Lean or Green Belt Six Sigma certification a plus.

- 3-5 years’ experience in scheduling position with extensive demonstrated success of implementing & operationalizing master schedules
