Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Quality and Reliability Engineering Teams analyze the ability of product and production systems to comply with customer and contractual requirements through established reliability factors. They design, recommend revisions and install quality control systems, develop and document analytical methods for establishing reliability of products and their components and conduct analysis on relative reliability with regards to cost, structure, weight, maintainability, facility of production, and availability of materials and equipment. Out teams develop, implement and monitor company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health and safety regulations and recommend corrective actions if necessary. They are responsible for policies and practices to comply with applicable government regulations and industry requirements related to product environmental compliance, the implementation and management of technical and testing standards and specifications, quality control and reliability programs governing materials, product and processes, resulting in the optimization of material and labor, as well as failure analysis, root cause, corrective action and customer communication.

Responsibilities

  • Participates on internal and external audits, follow-up corrective action plans, report status internally and externally
  • Implementation of central Quality tools promote Quality awareness into the plant
  • Moderates meetings with external and corporate auditors
  • Plans, leads and performs internal audits to ensure compliance of Quality System with internal and external requirements
  • Ensures completion on time of corrective actions derived from non-conformities, opportunities
  • Systematically analyze trends, results, to identify areas of improvement
  • Reports Audit results, Quality System performance to Top Management
  • Ensures Document process is carried out according to internal/ external regulations
  • Maintains the Quality System documentation up to date
  • Leads initiatives to improve quality management processes and documentation
  • Periodically reports results to Management, systematically analyze and improve the quality system
  • Deployment and training in of quality system tools such are: Layer process audits, product audits, VDA, BIQS, CQIs, etc.
  • Analytical problem solving, team building, and decision-making skills
  • Standardizes best practices in the plant quality management system

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or similar
  • 5+ years of experience in a quality/reliability engineering position
  • +3 years of experience working with Lean tools as APQP and Root Cause Analysis and SPC, capability analysis, gage R&R, and statistical techniques
  • Familiarized with High Speed Cables technology
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills in periodic and special reports/presentations both internally and with customers.
  • Experience with electronic quality-related standards
  • Analytical problem solving, team building, and decision-making skills
  • Familiarity with personal computing software (i.e. MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, MS PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Multi task management
  • Internal and external audit management
  • Priority management
