Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Materials Planning Teams are responsible for the plans, schedules, and monitoring of the movement of material through the production cycle. They determine quantity and order date for materials to meet production or engineering schedules, initiate purchase or production requisitions compliant with supply agreements, and develop the schedule to be used in the production facility based on forecasts and historical analysis. The Team develops specifications for new contract orders as well as forecasts and plans for labor requirements. They provide timely and accurate input on supplier performance and may be asked to participate in higher level supplier performance reviews with the strategic sourcing team. They also monitor cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value.

RESPONSABILITIES

  • Assist in driving key initiatives for process improvement.
  • Perform scenario analysis to aid in optimal scheduling.
  • Plans and prepares daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules. Coordinates with other planners to establish sequence and lead time of each operation, to meet ship dates, according to sales forecast and customer orders.
  • Support the monthly S&OP process focused on customer support and plant profitability.
  • Act as a focal point for production, customer service, quality purchasing and shipping.
  • Recommends actions to mitigate and resolve supply imbalances.
  • Provide analysis and management of inventories (FG-WIP and component inventory levels) to meet business needs.
  • Ensure KPI’s are met for assigned area.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on scheduling customer request dates and NPI’s.
  • Determine and mitigate manpower, equipment, and raw materials constraints.
  • Master Data Management in various systems (Epicor, SAP). 
  • Works with Purchasing team to understand and mitigate impact of RM receipts that are not released on time to meet scheduling requirements. 
  • Releases and tracks WIP work orders through to release and aging. 
     

SKILLS

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written.
  • Must have a working knowledge of inventory control and scheduling.
  • Excellent understanding of dependent and independent demand.
  • Competent organization skills and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to understand and apply continuous improvement tools.
  • Ability to independently drive solutions to complex supply chain issues with limited supervision.
  • Possess problem-solving skills in complex and demanding situations that undergo continuous priority changes.
  • English: B2+
  • Medical Device Industry Experience (preferred).

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 2-5 years of production knowledge. 
  • Bachelor of Engineering, International Trade, Business Administration or Related.
