Job Overview

Works with and at the direction of the Lab Supervisor and Quality Manager to perform various qualification, retention, and other required testing on relays and related parts and products within the Reliability Test Lab in order to ensure and maintain compliance with government and customer requirements. This position reports to the Lab Supervisor.

Basic Functions:

  • Conducts electrical, environmental, vibration and mechanical testing of relays and other products.
  • Prepares samples using hand tools and soldering
  • Runs & gathers test data from various electronic and computer systems (oscilloscopes, DMM's, automated test equipment, etc.)
  • Maintains the integrity of test results by complying with Corporate, Business Unit and local quality system requirements.
  • Coordinates maintenance and repair of electrical/electronic testing equipment
  • Ensures all safety requirements are met and followed
  • Overtime and temporary shift in hours may be required at times.

Hours are 7 am to 3:30pm Monday to Friday with flexibility as applicable.

  • Microsoft Excel
  • Microprocessor/programing experience a plus, but not required

Other Duties May Include:

  • May be required to prepare and/or assist in the preparation of Test Reports
  • May be required to be trained to perform other Quality and Reliability functions as needed or deemed appropriate

What your background should look like

  • Minimum 2 to 4 years technical experience, 2 years. Experience in testing, or degree (Electrical or Mechanical preferred)
  • Self-starter and willing to take ownership of issues/processes
  • Fundamental / Basic Electrical, Electro-Mechanical Comprehension
  • Measuring, Testing, & Reporting Skills for Test Regiment
  • Good soldering skills and manual dexterity
  • Ability to Read, Interpret, & Comprehend instructions and Designs (Internal & Customer Prints)
  • Capable of following lab policies and procedures
  • Aptitude for Learning & Problem Solving
  • Strong verbal & Written Communication Skills
  • Ability to work well with others of diverse backgrounds
  • Basic Computer skills: including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, MS Project a plus
  • Strong Work Ethic / Team Player
  • Self-motivated and ability to work with minimal direct supervision
  • Electromechanical relay knowledge/experience preferred
  • Must be able to manually grasp, push, pull, or lift up to 30 pounds on a regular basis

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $54,300– $81,400 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
