Industrial / Manufacturing Process Engineer

Job Overview

The Industrial Engineer is a key member of engineering team and is responsible for product standards and accuracy through all stages of the product life cycle. This is a full-time permanent position working onsite at our manufacturing plant in Hauppauge, NY.  A qualified candidate must possess understanding of manufacturing processes and 3D CAD programs operating skills. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Enter and maintain BOM’s and process routings in SAP with Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and Management for accuracy 
  • Performs manufacturing process time studies
  • Works directly with Mfg. Engineering / QC team to establish for tooling and develops.
  • Identifies Bill of material BOM.
  • Maintains capacity database to ensure plant can handle added capacity created by business growth
  • Evaluates capacity impact for proposed modifications on existing tooling / process / plant operations to help sourcing decision.
  • Creates phased Mfg. capacity plans for ALL New Product Development projects
  • Communicates plans for add-on capital per New Product Development P&L for potential creation of sustaining capacity add project
  • Supporting the integration of previously unconnected processes (departments) into one interconnected extended value stream from the customer’s perspective
  • Maintain plant layout; Willing to work between two different facility locations

What your background should look like:

  • Bachelor of Industrial Engineering or similar degree
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience (Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Process Development)
  • Manufacturing industry experience is highly preferred
  • Practical knowledge of 3D CAD program required (i.e. AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
  • GD&T principles knowledge required.
  • Ability to work towards completion of projects within defined schedules.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and priorities a rapidly changing set of objectives.
  • Capability to work in a fasted paced, dynamic global environment with multiple changing priorities.
  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt preferred
  • SAP experience preferred
