TE Medical is a highly profitable business unit within the Industrial Solutions Segment (IS) delivering innovative solutions to medical industry OEM customers in imaging, diagnostic, therapeutic, surgical, tubing, and minimally invasive interventional applications.

Purpose Of The Position

This Vice President of Operations is responsible for developing and executing the global operations strategy for the Medical business unit, in alignment with business unit growth objectives. Reporting to the VP/GM Medical BU s/he will lead the global manufacturing, supply chain, SI&OP, quality, procurement, NPI engineering, and continuous improvement functions in a high-growth, high complexity environment. A key mandate will be to optimize the operations organization which spans 12 global sites, and 4,500 employees. S/he will also continue shaping the new culture in the business, reinforcing accountability, and empowering the team to improve processes and outcomes.

This very exciting opportunity will require a high level, high impact leader with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization, go deep into the operational function, identify issues and drive the changes required for improvement.

This role will take the function on a journey of transformation particularly around Manufacturing Footprint and Continuous Improvement. This role will have a very high level of visibility in the organization and is critical for the growth of the Medical Business Unit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate the business strategy and objectives into a global operations strategy, aligning capacity, goals, and tactics with the objective of exceeding KPI targets.
  • Lead the development of a manufacturing footprint strategy, matching capacity to demand, while overseeing the day-to-day operations with the objective of exceeding KPI targets in the areas of Gross Margin, TEOA (Continuous Improvement), Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery.
  • Lead and motivate a high-performing, regionally dispersed operations team with major manufacturing sites in the U.S, Costa Rica, Mexico and Ireland. Cultural savviness and experience leading diverse workforces is key.
  • Attract, develop, and retain top talent to build strong pipelines of future operations leaders globally.
  • Drive a continuous improvement culture through collaboration and communication regarding best practices knowledge sharing, internal and external benchmarking, talent development, and hands-on leadership.
  • Provide thought leadership in lean management philosophy, including new product introduction robustness to ensure first time quality product launches.
  • Serve as a key member of BU leadership team in the integration of corporate initiatives and center led operations organization. Represent the BU in the TE global operations council activities.
  • Deliver significant, measurable, and highly visible improvements across the entire manufacturing and supply chain operations of a dynamic and rapidly changing manufacturing company.
  • Drive plant breakthrough operational performance by increasing productivity and reducing cost, lead-time and inventory while delivering a quality product complete and on-time to the customer.
  • Drive a quality ensured and continuous improvement culture through collaboration and communication regarding best practices knowledge sharing, internal and external benchmarking, talent development and, overall, a visibly passionate and vocal advocacy for hands-on leadership.

Qualifications Required

  • Master’s degree: engineering discipline or equivalent degree
  • Advanced degree (MBA) preferred

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $262,880 – $394,320 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
