Job Overview

The Industrial Business Unit of TE Connectivity has an opportunity for a Regional (Americas) Product Manager within the Medical Business Unit.  Product Managers at TE act as “Mini-GMs” and in this role the Product Manager will be responsible for optimizing the global strategy to the regional market based on obtaining and collecting regional VOC, understanding competitors, and executing on key regional initiatives in order to meet sales and gross margin targets for this role.  The person will work closely with colleagues in the Global Product Management function, Marketing, Sales, Engineering, and Operations.

 

This is a fully remote position; ideally, the candidate would be located in the Eastern time zone. 

Responsibilities

Market Sensing & Strategy Development:

  • Articulate regional market trends, demand drivers, customer needs, industry trends, and competitive landscape proactively to global product manager to capture opportunities and/or avoid risks
  • Conduct market segmentation exercises to develop market segment-specific strategies.
  • Conduct competitive analysis and benchmarking
  • Define segment –specific value propositions that beat the competition
  • Design go-to-market strategy, inclusive of channel strategy and partnerships
  • Work with R&D and operations in the development of new products to meet current and future customer requirements. 
  • Manage the product lifecycle   

 

Develop Business Plan:

  • Work cross functionally to define sales, technology, and operations regional strategies and goals, in line with financial goals tied to the global strategy.
  • Obtain VOC from regional customers and markets to refine the global business plan to the regional market
  • Establish pricing policy

 

Execution:

  • Be the opportunity champion for PAC projects
  • Supports global marketing launches in region
  • Provide regional demand forecast inputs to S&OP
  • Attends customer meetings in support of winning new business
  • Provides customer VOC into all functional groups to support new business wins
  • Exercise thought leadership
  • Delivers sustained profitable growth
  • Enable sales to promote product line via training and the development of collateral materials that help articulate the value proposition.
  • Manage special price requests
  • Track progress to the business plan and facilitate resolution to gaps for regional initiatives
  • Be the champion for resolution of product issues (e.g. quality, delivery, etc…)

What your background should look like:

  • 10+ years of product management, strategy, business development with relevant P&L management experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or equivalent; MBA preferred.
  • Prefer candidates with knowledge and experience of cable assemblies and connectors ideally for the medical industry and therapy solutions  
  • Technical & market understanding of industrial applications
  • Ability to support frequent travel up to 30% (both regional and global)
  • Demonstrated ability to provide effective project leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize
  • Strong interpersonal, business acumen & negotiating skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills demonstrated by the ability to communicate across all levels within and outside of the organization
  • Successful candidates will have strong ability to work independently
  • Outstanding networking, influencing, and listening skills
  • Experience reading/interpreting production level drawings

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $151,000 - $190,000 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
