Job Overview

Reporting to the VP Global Talent Management, and as the top-level enterprise leadership development thought leader, the Global Leadership Development Leader will develop and drive the global leadership development strategy and the design of high-potential/critical role development programs across TE, to enable a talent-rich and high performing organization while supporting our purpose, strategy and values.  This individual will be responsible for consulting with executive and business leaders and partners on key leadership development and capability needs and building the leadership development philosophy and framework to be used across the global enterprise.  Building upon an existing set of management development programs, the individual will be required to envision and develop a globally sustainable new set of programs and toolkits to be leveraged across the enterprise as needed by the business. The role requires deep organizational diagnosis, instructional design, business consulting, and facilitation and delivery of development solutions to leaders and to the broader business directly and in partnership with Global HR, Talent and business partner teams.  The critical focus areas for the role will be to develop both standard enterprise leadership pipeline development programs for all, and business-specific, high-potential and critical role pipeline programs, to ensure the highest capabilities across all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

  • As the top-level enterprise leadership development thought leader, and in partnership with executive and business leaders and partners, develop the Leadership Development strategy for the organization and the enterprise experience across the leadership pipeline, to include focus on emerging and high potential leaders
  • Partner with business leaders and partners to enable critical business success and capabilities by building out critical role leadership development programs across the pipeline; utilize talent management data as a baseline in working with the business to target populations and capabilities
  • Assess current/existing programs for effectiveness and make determination for future use or enhancement based on the overall Leadership Development strategy
  • Modularize the Leadership Curriculum infrastructure of programs for more nimble deployment, refreshing curriculum where possible with blended learning strategies and solutions
  • Create highly effective and engaging learning experiences including face-to-face, e-learning/multimedia (non-technical content development) and blended; create all collateral for programs to include visuals, activities, participant materials, leader's guides, and discussion guides

Education, Training & Experience

  • Minimum 15 years’ experience designing and delivering leadership and management programs; expertise with adult learning theory and instructional design certification a plus
  • Deep experience required in using internal/external talent assessments to identify capability gaps and to align leadership development programs accordingly; knowledge of, and experience with, industry assessments and consultants is needed, certifications helpful
  • Strategic thinking, leadership presence, expertise in instructional design and a track record of stellar facilitation to influence senior management and engage a diverse global workforce
  • Broad understanding of and experience envisioning and designing robust leadership development initiatives under a clear framework using various implementation methodologies
  • Understanding and experience integrating leadership development programs into a holistic talent management framework, including succession management
  • Expert facilitation skills and knowledge and experience designing and implementing innovative, premiere leadership development solutions
  • Expert presenter with the ability to influence and educate leaders on leadership development including the purpose of leadership development, the role leaders play in developing other leaders and the activities needed to support effective leadership development; superior oral and written business communication skills
  • Can effectively manage change and can shift gears comfortably; highly effective in ambiguous environments and able to produce maximum results with little direction and guidance
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage external and internal resources and a people network to execute quickly, effectively and consistently in a fast-paced business environment
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills; proven research skills to gather data, best practices, and points of view to ensure sound judgment
  • Superior collaborative working abilities and experience; ability to manage multiple complex assignments, with proven ability to assess competing priorities in a high energy, fast paced environment in a geographically dispersed organization
  • Confidence interacting with senior-level leaders and influence/persuasion track record to build and gain buy-in for a global Leadership Development agenda and curriculum
