Job Overview


The Aerospace, Defense & Marine (AD&M) Business Unit is currently seeking a global Director of Operations Finance for our headquarters in Harrisburg, PA.  The Director of Operations Finance is responsible for the financial performance of all AD&M operational and supply chain activities globally.  This position reports directly to the Vice President of Finance for AD&M and will closely partner with the Vice President of Operations.  


The position must maintain collaborative relationships with all functions within the BU and with other BU Operations and Operations Finance Teams.  Key responsibilities are to drive both long and short financial performance improvement across the entire supply chain, involving manufacturing sites, Supply Chain, Procurement and Logistics. Activities will center on coordinating financial analysis, developing business decision support, financial modeling, forecasting and reporting.


The Aerospace, Defense & Marine Business Unit is a $1.1 billion business with over 6000 employees and over 20 manufacturing sites, primarily in the U.S. and Europe.  



We are seeking an exceptionally forward-thinking, outspoken and energetic finance executive who demonstrates diversity in their experiences and can be a strategic business partner to the leadership team.  


•    Manage all aspects of operational and supply chain finance for 20 manufacturing plants globally
•    Manage and develop a team of more than 20 professionals
•    Direct and perform consolidation of global operational financial information on a monthly basis and review, reconcile and analyse to provide recommendations for improvement to management
•    Direct and perform preparation of supplemental financial information in support of AD&M monthly, quarterly and annual forecasts
•    Track and monitor material and conversion productivity performance on a monthly basis
•    Financial support and analysis of AD&M strategic operational objectives, including:
•    Footprint migration, consolidation or expansion activities
•    Capacity analysis
•    Automation projects and other capital investments
•    Analysis of operational results, both forecasted and actual, bridging performance over time
•    Work with BU supply chain team to identify and drive freight and inventory reductions
•    Preparation of concise summary of relevant information to facilitate decision making
•    Coordinate and conduct monthly plant reviews
•    Review and approve capital expenditures


What your background should look like:


•    Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, Master's degree and CMA/CPA preferred
•    10-15 years of operations finance experience in a global manufacturing company  
•    SAP knowledge is a strong plus
•    Knowledge of Lean manufacturing is beneficial
•    Have outstanding influencing skills, strong motivational and leadership development capabilities and a history of creating consensus across many functional and geographical areas.  
•    Effective change leader who can challenge appropriately and bring forward new and bold ideas that inspire and bring about positive change.    
•    Be an exceptionally strong leader who has a demonstrated track record of excellence in building and developing finance organizations.  
•    Be a finance leader who has served in leadership roles in various dimensions of the business.  
•    Be an important business partner to the VP of Operations.  
•    Be willing to travel regularly to visit plants
•    Have previously demonstrated strong capability in operations finance, financial & strategic planning, restructuring footprint and analysis in a world-class industrial environment.  
•    Have considerable experience in managing, refining and building a diverse finance team.  
•    Have demonstrated success working across functions.  
•    Be highly organized, detail-oriented and must complete tasks on time
