Job Overview

The Director of Global Operations role is a key and integral part of the TE Medical business. The role has direct leadership for the manufacture of assemblies and components that directly impact patient lives as part of life saving procedures. Global responsibility for approximately $750M of revenue in products that are manufactured over 10 sites globally. The position is responsible for all elements of day to day Global Operations working in a cross functional matrix environment. Working closely with the business leaders as well as the Global Operations Leaders there will be responsibility and accountability for daily operations and output, strategic planning, operational financial performance, etc. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Operations performance for the medical manufacturing facilities across ten locations globally.  
  • Ensure alignment and partnership of the operations functions. within the operations matrix and with other business functions, customers etc.
  • Develop and maintain a global operations strategy with road map of delivery in line with the business strategy, ensuring alignment throughout the facilities to goals and deliverables.
  • Deliver on budget/forecast and performance to agreed targets.
  • Manage large-scale manufacturing changes and transfers and lead teams in solving complex business problems and drive long term growth using a hands-on approach
  • Deliver / partner on NPI project milestones
  • Drive transformational change in line with the business strategy using TE support as necessary
  • Partner with strategic and engineering leaders to drive cost reductions in sustaining production through process redesign, materials, automation (including digital factory), and technology updates utilizing TEOA (TE Operating Advantage) resources and tools.
  • Implement and manage approved capital budget to ensure effective spending to maximize operational efficiency and productivity in alignment with the business strategy.
  • Drive a results-driven culture of accountability that becomes embedded within the organization
  • Actively coach, develop and engage in the professional growth of employees, identifying key players, proposing development opportunities. Develop talent and future leaders.
  • Drive a culture of creativity, speed, efficiency, innovation and continuous learning
  • Improve talent engagement and ECE through launch, quality, delivery and overall business speed and flexibility
  • Manage and optimize resources to deliver consistently on performance measures and growth expectations
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations as well as all TE policies and procedures
     

Qualifications

  • Primary degree in a technical or business discipline or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 10 years’ leadership experience in a complex and advanced manufacturing company, with progressive levels of responsibility.
  • Previous experience leading large scale operations or multiple value streams in a highly matrixed environment is essential
  • Experience of site performance transformation and change management is essential
  • Strong background in Lean practices, experience in using value stream mapping and implementing lean tools, such as:  5S+1, Visual Factory, Standard Work, Quick Changeover, Material Replenishment & Flow, and TPM essential.
  • Strong team leader and talent developer
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically to deliver results
  • Analytically minded and data-driven to have a holistic overview of complex situations.
  • Ability to adapt to work priorities in response to a rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Strong financial and analytical skills
  • Strong technical knowledge
  • Ability to work in Global time zones in order to lead the global business; potential travel up to 50%.
  • Medical product experience and knowledge of FDA regulations is a plus

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $200,800 - $301,200 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
