Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Strategic Sourcing Teams develop and implement multi-year strategies for assigned commodities, suppliers and parts/services to achieve established goals in supplier quality, delivery, price and service. They align strategy and execution with cross-functional partners such as engineering, manufacturing, product management and functional owners. They execute the competitive bid, negotiation, contracting processes and/or technical continuous improvement for assigned commodities or services; collaborate across Business Units and cross-regions for optimal TE leverage. Our teams demonstrate a high level of expertise in procurement competencies (business/supply chain acumen, negotiation, sourcing strategy development and execution, global savvy, and project and product lifecycle management) and ensure results are delivered compliant with TE policies and procedures.

What your background should look like:

The TE Supply Chain Rotation Program is designed to provide participants with broad exposure to the elements of materials planning, logistics and procurement.  The program consists of four six months rotations in multiple areas and sites each accompanied by a robust technical and leadership curriculum.  At the conclusion of the two year program, participants will be candidates for supply chain roles across the company.  The Supply Chain Rotation Program provides individuals with future leadership opportunities at TE in supply chain. Positions will be based in a variety of locations across MX and the US.


Eligible candidates will graduate between December 2019 and June 2020 with 0 -2 years industry experience
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Materials Management, or other related degrees considered as applicable
Minimum Grade Point Average in major of 85 and fluent conversational english


--> Procurement – Center led Commodities:
Gather quotations, review and complete purchase orders, contact suppliers to place orders and expedite the delivery of purchased items in order to meet delivery schedules
Review purchase requisitions for items such as proper price, commodity code and lead-time
Obtain quotes from suppliers and assists in negotiating most suitable prices, terms and delivery schedules
Expediting orders and communicates information to resolve business issues
Assist in the evaluation of suppliers. May participate in plant surveys to evaluate prospective suppliers. Completes survey form including recommendations
Continually keeps informed on new products, substitute products and model changes by interviewing representatives, reading trade journals and related publications and making personal visits to local supplier facilities
Support development of commodity strategies

--> Procurement – TEOA:
Work with TE Operating Advantage (TEOA) within Global Procurement to deploy TEOA tools, concepts and methodologies and drive consistent, repeatable processes across all business unit procurement functions
Analyze existing business processes and identify areas of opportunity to drive continuous improvement in procurement processes
Lead, present, and train process improvements to all global team members
Develop and document global project and process documentation, training guides, and standard operating procedures

--> Logistics:
Review Network Design Optimization and high running parts to ensure optimization of their flow and to evaluate potential cost savings
Participate in Network Design activities including various studies and evaluating tools
Review DC Optimization for consideration of outsourcing, closure, etc.
Review and define logistical KPIs to drive improvements for supply chain metrics across functions within TE and overall supply chain performance.
