Job Overview
Is responsible for leading a team of Manufacturing Engineers and supporting the successful industrialization, launch, stabilization, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.
This position provides both technical and people leadership, ensuring Manufacturing Engineering activities are executed safely, on time, within budget, and in alignment with Quality, Delivery, Productivity, and NPI objectives.
The role requires a strong manufacturing background, preferably in cable assembly, electrical/electronic products, AC/DC power applications, mechatronics, automation, terminal crimping, ultrasonic welding, and equipment/process development.
The Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor will work closely with Operations, Quality, Product Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Program Management, Finance, and equipment suppliers to ensure manufacturing readiness and operational performance.
Job Requirements
- Lead and develop the Manufacturing Engineering team, ensuring effective resource allocation, performance management, and technical capability growth.
- Drive New Product Introduction (NPI) and industrialization activities from concept through mass production, ensuring successful product launches and manufacturing readiness.Lead equipment development, automation, and industrialization projects, including specification, procurement, FAT/SAT, commissioning, qualification, and acceptance.
- Provide technical leadership for manufacturing processes including cable assembly, crimping, ultrasonic welding, electrical testing, automated equipment, vision systems, and AC/DC power cable products.Ensure process robustness through PFMEA, Control Plans, process validation, capability studies, MSA/GR&R, Cp/Cpk, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Partner cross-functionally to identify and mitigate manufacturing risks, resolve quality and production issues, and drive permanent corrective actions.
- Lead Operational Excellence initiatives focused on safety, productivity, cost reduction, automation, OEE improvement, scrap reduction, and capacity optimization.
- Establish and monitor Manufacturing Engineering KPIs, ensuring accountability and recovery plans when performance falls below targets.
- Support CAPEX planning, business case development, project execution, and manufacturing technology roadmaps.
What your background should look like
- 7+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience leading engineers, technicians, projects, or technical teams.
- Previous experience as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, Lead Manufacturing Engineer, Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor, or similar leadership role.
- Strong background in New Product Introduction (NPI), industrialization, equipment development, production ramp-up, and manufacturing process optimization.
- Hands-on experience with cable assembly, terminal crimping, ultrasonic welding, AC/DC power cable products, and electrical testing.
- Knowledge of automated manufacturing equipment, PLC-controlled systems, vision inspection systems, pneumatics, and mechatronic applications.
- Solid understanding of PFMEA, Control Plans, process validation, MSA/GR&R, Cp/Cpk, Lean Manufacturing, and statistical process control methodologies.
- Experience with equipment specification, qualification, acceptance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root-cause analysis, capacity planning, and labor optimization.
