Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Purchasing Teams are responsible for obtaining materials, components, equipment and services, gather quotations, examine bids, and award contracts. They perform cost analysis and volume planning for commodities, evaluate vendor reliability and develop new supply sources where required. They coordinate purchasing activities with the manufacturing and engineering departments to maintain inventory at planned levels and monitor cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value. They also look for and recommend cost saving proposals including make vs. buy analysis, alternative sourcing, and vendor evaluation criteria as well as develop specifications for new contract orders.

What your background should look like:

The Purchasing Supervisor leads the Tactical Buyers team and defines local purchasing objectives to ensure alignment with broader business goals. This role is key to addressing escalations in a timely manner and maintaining accurate MRP system data to support production planning requirements.
Tasks Summary & Responsibilities:
•    Oversee the execution of Component Segmentation Policy and determine appropriate safety stock levels.
•    Monitor inventory & inventory excess potential. Identify opportunities & drive actions with the buyers & suppliers.
•    Ensure Info Record and Source List data are accurate and aligned with MRP settings, including MOQ, pricing, and lead times.
•    Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on improving KPI performance.
•    Set and execute action plans for each key performance metric to meet Monthly, Quarterly, and Yearly targets defined by the Business Unit.
•    Apply comprehensive knowledge within area of responsibility to determine the best approach for schedules and problem solving.
•    Follow standard work instructions. Enforce & audit standard work utilization for buyers.
•    Demonstrate strong mentoring capabilities.
•    Supervise a team of skilled professionals or other supervisors.
•    Communicate regularly with team members and functional counterparts to share or present information.
•    Participate in personnel-related decisions such as hiring, performance evaluation, and disciplinary actions.

Professional Experience (ideal years and areas):
•    Minimum 5 years of experience in Procurement/Materials Planning/Supply Chain or related.
•    Experience in team leadership.
•    Proactive.
•    Strong communicative skills.
