Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Materials Planning Teams are responsible for the plans, schedules, and monitoring of the movement of material through the production cycle. They determine quantity and order date for materials to meet production or engineering schedules, initiate purchase or production requisitions compliant with supply agreements, and develop the schedule to be used in the production facility based on forecasts and historical analysis. The Team develops specifications for new contract orders as well as forecasts and plans for labor requirements. They provide timely and accurate input on supplier performance and may be asked to participate in higher level supplier performance reviews with the strategic sourcing team. They also monitor cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value.

5-7 years of experience in:

1. Planning/purchasing supervisor
2. Forecasting (sales, business)
3. Personnel management
4. Supplier management
Advanced English

 APICS (desirable) 

 

Performance:

1. Guarantee the application of planning and control policies of the supply chain focused on efficiency and service level.
2. Coordinate and verify the compliance of areas that comprise the supply chain (planning and purchasing).
3. Lead the area and implement the development of new innovation processes within the operation and practice of the supply chain.
4. Attend internal and external audits of the area.
5. Establish controls and improvements to achieve high inventory reliability.
6. Recruit and train the appropriate personnel for the different positions in the department.
7. Ensures compliance in responsibilities, hiring, training and performance evaluation and professional development of assigned employees with an action plan to improve performance and motivation of the team.
8. Achievement of goals established by the organization. 
Daily activities:

1. Ensure internal sourcing and delivery of products to customers on time and with the required quality.
2. Oversee planning and purchasing processes.
Periodic activities:

1. Review ERP parameters and information to ensure optimal performance.
Review and analyze current demand vs. Forecast
3. Projection of loads and capacities for production.

Eventual activities:

1. Transfers (line or equipment migrations) 
2. Quality audits
3.    Participation and follow up in assigned continuous improvement projects.
