Main responsibilities
- Data Analysis for Key Performance Metrics
- Control and manage long-term strategic supplier relationships as owner of the Commodity, escalates issues as needed to Procurement Mgmt.
- Responsible for attaining annual business results (ex. cost savings, supplier performance and compliance) for responsible commodities, including developing and leading leverage price and terms negotiations with potential and current suppliers.
- Request, compare and evaluate extensive bids, considering target price, quality, delivery performance and technology; conduct cost reduction actions according to Commodity Strategy and targets set.
- Lead supplier negotiations and selection as requested by BU manager or global director.
- Hold periodic business reviews with key/strategic suppliers to ensure TE metrics and directives are being achieved. Implement improvement plans and actions for poor performing suppliers.
- Develop Supply Base consolidation or exit plans for low spend suppliers to increase TE leverage with key growth suppliers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or related engineering discipline
- MBA (Desired)
Professional experience
- 5-7 years’ experience in Procurement Roles.(In the Automotive Industry)
- Previous Commodity/Category Management/Strategic Sourcing Experience considered as a must.
- Demonstrated leadership of a commodity, project team or direct reports is preferred.
- Strong Knowledge, Procurement Processes.
- Previous SAP experience or training a plus
Specific qualification, knowledge and skills
- Fluent English. Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- Able to work well with international teams and individuals.
- Strong analytical skills. Ability to analyze complex financial documentation and RFP submissions and make detailed reports and recommendations to management.
- Commodity Manager with specific experience in silicone seals (LSR and HCR technologies), and knowledge of fasteners and abrasion sleeves.
- Negotiation skills
- Organized and able to meet critical deadlines.
- Ability for periodic travel required.
- Proficient in MS office suite; advanced Excel, Power point
- Knowledge applicable to the position in IATF 16949 and ISO 14001.
- Knowledge of Safety and Environment Regulations and the environmental management system that apply to the company.

Our internship program typically runs May thru August and gives students the opportunity to work on projects that contribute to the success of their team and build on their classroom experience. Throughout the 10–12-week program, interns will be provided with:

Timeline
TE Connectivity recruits on campus between September and March for New Grad (FT), Rotational, Internship and Co-op positions beginning in May. Once you have applied to a position, your resume and application will be reviewed. If you are selected to move to the next step in the application process, you will be contacted by a recruiter. Once you accept an offer, the onboarding process will begin in January for interns who have committed to offers in the fall semester and upon acceptance for interns who have committed to offers in the spring semester.
