Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Strategic Sourcing Teams develop and implement multi-year strategies for assigned commodities, suppliers and parts/services to achieve established goals in supplier quality, delivery, price and service. They align strategy and execution with cross-functional partners such as engineering, manufacturing, product management and functional owners. They execute the competitive bid, negotiation, contracting processes and/or technical continuous improvement for assigned commodities or services; collaborate across Business Units and cross-regions for optimal TE leverage. Our teams demonstrate a high level of expertise in procurement competencies (business/supply chain acumen, negotiation, sourcing strategy development and execution, global savvy, and project and product lifecycle management) and ensure results are delivered compliant with TE policies and procedures.

What your background should look like:

Educational Degree    Bachelor’s degree in economics, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or equivalent
Professional Experience      (years in what processes and functions would be ideal)  

 4+ years’ experience in procurement as procurement as Buyer, Strategic sourcing Analyst or Equivalent position in supply chain
Experience in preparation of negotiations
Sourcing experience for relevant commodities

Fluent English at negotiation level

Responsibilities 
Responsible for defining and implementing the strategy and classification (grow/fix/exit/develop) for the assigned suppliers (mostly small to mid-size suppliers) and commodities – under strong cooperation with Senior Strategic Buyer, Supplier Quality and Supply Chain Management
Responsible for selecting suppliers that best fit to the defined commodity strategy and relevant product sourcing strategy, including biding, awarding, sourcing, and contracting of new suppliers, and approving set up of new suppliers while ensuring number of suppliers is further reduced
Responsible for nominating suppliers in RFQ process and gathering offers
Responsible for lead time improvement, including tracking and review of STC/ STR performance with relevant suppliers and driving of strategic improvement plans
Preparation and leadership of negotiations with suppliers, including solution of contractual issues and providing MOQ and lead-time relevant information to Tactical Buyer
Quote and negotiate production material costs to ensure material productivity performance meets or exceeds expectations
Responsible to develop saving plans for the assigned suppliers and commodities to reach the saving targets, including cost savings through annual negotiations with relevant suppliers 
Helps to identify technical possibilities for cost reductions in cooperation with the engineering department 
Responsible to screen proactively the market to identify suppliers and demands for the future, to identify development partners and to negotiate contracts with them
Participate or leads quarterly business reviews with suppliers, including review of financial, quality, and delivery performance targets and driving the supplier performance matrix
Leading special projects, including re-sourcing and outsourcing activities
Responsible to align required capacities with suppliers
Ensures compliance with the global sourcing process and policies for all activities under responsibility
Ensures suppliers are compliant with TEs social supplier responsibility and legal requirements, including RoHS, Conflict Minerals
Responsible for purchasing system setup (Info Records) and ensure that it is up to date 
Responsible to recognize proactively weaknesses in processes, to work on process improvements and to update or create the required the required documentation.
Drives analyses and plausibilisation of regular reports as well as pushing for Data accuracy / clean-up
