STRATEGIC SOURCING ANALYST II
Job Overview
TE Connectivity's Strategic Sourcing Teams develop and implement multi-year strategies for assigned commodities, suppliers and parts/services to achieve established goals in supplier quality, delivery, price and service. They align strategy and execution with cross-functional partners such as engineering, manufacturing, product management and functional owners. They execute the competitive bid, negotiation, contracting processes and/or technical continuous improvement for assigned commodities or services; collaborate across Business Units and cross-regions for optimal TE leverage. Our teams demonstrate a high level of expertise in procurement competencies (business/supply chain acumen, negotiation, sourcing strategy development and execution, global savvy, and project and product lifecycle management) and ensure results are delivered compliant with TE policies and procedures.

Aligns strategy and execution with cross-functional partners such as engineering, manufacturing, product management and functional owners. Executes the competitive bid, negotiation, contracting processes and/or technical continuous improvement for assigned commodities or services; collaborates cross-BU and cross-region for optimal TE leverage.
What your background should look like:
-Help facilitate development of strategy and identify risk and opportunities within scope; may include development of supply base for new products
-Manage implementation of strategies within scope
-Gather quotations from approved vendors on recommended changes, examine bids, and work with corporate commodity team on awarding business
-Coordinate purchasing activities with manufacturing and engineering departments to drive cost reduction projects
-Recommend cost savings proposals including alternative supplier sourcing, alternative materials and vendor evaluation criteria
-May assist commodity leaders in development of new contracts such as, but not limited to, terms and conditions, stocking agreements, etc.
-Draft standard RFQ/RFI and E-procurement technology with requirements and analyze suppliers’ response
-Perform supplier evaluations, including inspection plan development, monitoring supplier quality, delivery and conformance to requirements. Develop corrective action plans as needed based on evaluation results
-Perform cost/price analysis with total cost of ownership as objective
-Utilize total cost of ownership analysis with supplier/commodity/project strategies
-Identify, negotiate, and implement cost avoidance and/or reduction opportunities through total cost
-Work with Quality department to ensure customer needs are being met while maintaining a cost competitive position
-Understand the root cause of quality issues and facilitate communication between TE and the supplier for resolution
