Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Quality and Reliability Engineering Teams analyze the ability of product and production systems to comply with customer and contractual requirements through established reliability factors. They design, recommend revisions and install quality control systems, develop and document analytical methods for establishing reliability of products and their components and conduct analysis on relative reliability with regards to cost, structure, weight, maintainability, facility of production, and availability of materials and equipment. Out teams develop, implement and monitor company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health and safety regulations and recommend corrective actions if necessary. They are responsible for policies and practices to comply with applicable government regulations and industry requirements related to product environmental compliance, the implementation and management of technical and testing standards and specifications, quality control and reliability programs governing materials, product and processes, resulting in the optimization of material and labor, as well as failure analysis, root cause, corrective action and customer communication.

What your background should look like:

RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY

  • Conduct Control Plans, Process Capability and GR&R studies as part of PPAP submissions. 
  • Facilitate action plans for customer specific demands/complaints.
  • Follow-up to corrective actions. 
  • Active participation with multidisciplinary Team for scrap reduction activities and projects. 
  • Controls manufacturing process to maximize quality improvement, improved efficiency and cost reduction. 
  • Troubleshoots assembly and/or machining equipment as required to meet quality and production requirements. 
  • Creates and maintains Control Plan, PFMEA, Operator Work Instructions, Equipment Check Sheet, etc.
  • Participates with multidisciplinary Team in APQP, FMEA, DOE, 8D, PSO y FTQ. 
  • Practices 5S and Plan/Do/Check/Action cycles. 

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Engineering Degree on Industrial, Mechanical, Automotive, Electronics or similar.
  • +3 years of experience in quality engineering area at Automotive industry. 
  • Experience as Quality Engineer in IATF 16949 automotive environment.
  • Experience using OEM Customer portals.
  • Experience in an automotive regulated environment (Tier 1 and OEM).

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Advance English (written and spoken).
  • Experience on Improvement projects using Minitab or other statistical software.
  • Certification in GD&T intermediate level.  Must be able to understand and interpret blueprints.
  • Proficiency in working with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Experience traveling to US and / or other international locations to support on Quality issues reported by Customers.
  • Certification in IATF 16949 as internal auditor
  • Certification in fundamentals of ISO 14001. 
  • Certification on core tools and proven knowledge of SPC, CPK/PPK & Gage R&R
  • Certification on 8Ds and proven experience on leading cross-functional teams for solving quality problems.
  • Advanced knowledge and proven experience with structured Problem-Solving tools in automotive industry.  
  • Proven experience working with international standards (IPC, USCAR, others) on resolution of quality issues.
