Job Overview
We are currently seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer to join our Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Team in Hermosillo MX. TE Connectivity's Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Teams are process leaders for stamping, molding, machined, plating and automated assembly related topics, ensuring migrated products and process are integrated and qualified to rigorous standards. Manufacturing Engineering Teams enable the TE business unit plants to reach TE Operating Advantage (TEOA) requirements, roll out Centers of Excellence (COE), Best Demonstrated Practices (BDP’s) and advise plants on tool and machine development and integration. They design and develop manufacturing processes and automation platforms and apply them for the realization within the plant.
What your background should look like
• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Demonstrated success in project management within a manufacturing environment, delivering measurable results.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience working within Manufacturing Engineering and Project Management discipline or environment.
• Hands on, driving, organizing prioritizing and keeping the scope in control.
• Experience interacting with multifunctional teams (local and external culturally diverse environment and seamlessly collaborating across boundaries)
• Good negotiating skills and influence skills, good time management
• Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working in a low volume, high mix environment is preferred.
• Experience with military/aerospace products is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to work within a cross-functional team.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate across all levels within and outside of the organization.
• Capability to work in a fasted paced, dynamic global environment with multiple changing priorities.
• Proficient in MS Office Software such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Knowledge in statistical software packages such as JMP and Minitab desirable but not required.
What you will be doing...
• Support and Develop project requirements enabling comprehensive manufacturing plans, including process flow, equipment needs, and resource allocation.
• Facilitate plant support for milestones and critical paths. Identify risks of delays to minimize their impact on the schedule.
• Record deviations from the target schedules and adjust schedules accordingly.
• Support change management and business case development to align with organizational objectives and deliver compelling presentations to management.
• Coordinate cross functional teams during project cycle from concept to completion, including scope definition, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
• Oversee the implementation of new manufacturing processes, including training of production staff.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and efficiency enhancements within manufacturing operations.
• Monitor[PK2.1] production progress against project timelines and escalate potential issues proactively
• Develop and maintain project documentation, including plans, progress reports, risk assessments, and performance metrics.
• Utilize lean manufacturing principles and tools to optimize workflows and reduce waste.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
• Facilitate effective communication[PK3.1] with stakeholders, including internal teams, vendors, and clients.
• Conduct post-project evaluations to identify successes, lessons learned, and areas for improvement.
