What your background should look like

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering (or equivalent)
Experience in similar position 2-3 years
3D Modeling (CREO, Solid Works, Pro E)
GD&T
Lean Manufacturing
Microsoft Office

 

Performance:
- Maintains existing products, processes and specifications, which include:
- Modifications for new applications consistent with manufacturing techniques and economies.
- Initiates and implements programs to continuously improve quality and cost while meeting customer requirements.
- May support and implement product extensions to existing platform products to meet specific customer requirements.
- Knows the products for which he/she is responsible.

Daily and ongoing activity:
- Manage engineering change process (ECR/ECN) to support product manufacturability, reduce overhead costs, address customer requested changes, etc. Interact with various functions to ensure engineering change is clearly understood and properly coordinated.
- Manage the Product Change Notification (PCN) process to inform customers of any design changes.
- Respond quickly to customer issues and support quality engineering by driving root cause analysis and corrective actions for material, mechanical and electrical problems.
- Redesign products to resolve a customer complaint, manufacturing issue or to support cost reduction efforts.
- Provide root cause and corrective action assistance on design related issues that have been identified and corrected.

Periodic activities:
- Support Purchasing in new supplier development and supplier consolidation, also to ensure that purchased products meet required specifications.
- Participate in A3 troubleshooting teams for design related issues, attend level meetings, Material Review Board and Rapid Response Board to resolve customer and supplier issues.
- Support local manufacturing facilities on processing issues related to design and product requirements.
- Work with product management, sales and customer service to ensure safe product performance for various applications.
- Develop test plan to ensure product performance.
- Work in conjunction with military agencies to maintain compliance of our products against military specifications.
