TE Connectivity’s Engineering Managers provide leadership for cross functional engineering teams. They work with senior management to define technical road maps aligned with market directions and communicate across other Business Units to share applicable technology. Our Engineering Managers leverage TE global technology to increase competitive position and increased value to our customers. They identify relevant technology trends and opportunities, develop relationships and partnerships with key customers, industry leaders and core suppliers, define and manage IP strategy, assess talent and implement development plans to assure succession planning and organization capability.

What your background should look like

Mechanical, Material Science or Mechatronic Engineering degree (or equivalent).
7+ years of experience, preferably in product design/sustaining for the aerospace industry.
Fully Bilingual English - Spanish.
Experience with CREO or SolidWorks design software.
Understand good engineering principles and design practices.
Familiar with Aerospace specifications and standards.
GDT – Geometric Tolerances / stack up analysis experience, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma environment preferred.
Strong mechanical and material analysis; troubleshooting skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Leadership skills are also essential, as they are often responsible for mentoring junior team members, leading project teams, and making hard technical decisions.
Flexible to travel to suppliers as required of the job.

 

 

This Manager II role will actively lead and implement ADM core goals for a large & diverse professional team consisting of 3 Product Engineering Managers, 20+ full-time Product Engineers including annual Rotational program Product Engineer, and upwards of 4 Co-Op / Interns.  
Manager II role will lead, manage, create, support, analyze, and assist in all aspects of sustaining Aerospace, Defense and Marine connector systems products including overseeing product data creation and driving excellence in part number maintenance at drawing level for up to 50 Global Product Lines including new & legacy rectangular and military circular connectors.
The ideal Manager II Product Engineering candidate should be a fast learner, have broad leadership and product experience with commercial aerospace and defense electrical connectors and related components, and a keen understanding of industry related electrical wiring interface standards (EWIS) and components.  
Expectations include strong leadership experience with demonstrated success with a large professional team.  Additionally, candidate must have extensive experience with manufacturing processes such as machining, plating, molding, sealing, and assembly as well as industry requirements such as REACH, EU RoHS, TCSA, and Prop 65 declarations. Candidate must have excellent knowledge of core Engineering tools including Windchill, CREO, PDMLink, and other CAD / FAE tools necessary to lead the Product Engineering team in completing tasks assigned from 3D modeling, detailed 2D print mark-ups / generation, processing Engineering Changes and updating Engineering Bill of Materials among other tasks.  
This Manager II Product Engineering will work with local TE Operations Staff and ADM Engineering leadership as administrator to drive implementation on a wide variety of targeted technical assignments including engineering sample preparations, plant level interactions with peer engineering managers, develop strong relationships with product managers and other customer facing sales personnel; continuous follow-up on sustaining engineering activities, product migration activities, and is accountable for team completion of assigned engineering projects within project scheduling guidelines. 
This Manager II Product Engineering must plan, prioritize, and actively manage the team to drive performance and results in conjunction with Product Engineering Supervisors on multiple technical related projects and daily tasks related to TECPN database, PDM vaults, PDMLink EC system, technical documentation creation, and TE Product Compliance Tracking database systems. Additionally, work collaboratively and closely with TE Project Managers in PMO and other technical project related employees including contractors.
