Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering Teams significantly impact LEANPD driven new product development projects, driving for excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods and striving to implement new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control. They act as the binding element between product development and manufacturing engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface. They support Product Development in the optimization of designs and piece parts for manufacturability by realizing sample tooling/products/prototypes. They also design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE quality and production standards, document all processes and tooling in applicable TE systems, support supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability, initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, cost and cycle time and adhere to all appropriate specifications, regulatory requirements and customer requirements.

What your background should look like:

Responsibilities: 
1. Allocate and balance the allocation of work across direct reports; review and provide timely performance feedback to direct reports; mentor, develop and motivate them; help resolve people/functional issues in the team to achieve targeted performance and retain key talent.
•    Lead a team of engineers who will:
    o    Develop automation lines in accordance with LEANPD product development 
    o    Drive for excellence in existing automation technologies and methods 
    o    Strive to implement new automation technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control 
    o    Support Product Development in the optimization designs (DFM) and piece parts for automation manufacturability; realizes proof of concept tooling, product samples and prototypes.
    o    Design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE Automotive quality and production standards.
    o    Support supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability. 
•    Act as the binding element between product development and automation engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface. 
•    Maintain communication with project management team to understand current and future strategic business needs
•    Prioritize and time manage a portfolio of projects/work efforts based on criticality and business need
•    Provide readouts to Director and VP level cross function management as necessary
•    Work with Hermosillo operations team to assign resources necessary for the successful execution of new automation development
•    Facilitate and coordinate cross-function communication across globally matrixed organization 

Qualifications:
1.    Bachelor or above degree with mechanical/electric related majors;
2.    At least 3 years related experience managerial level in multinational manufacturing site;
3.    Familiar with Lean, Six Sigma. etc. industrial methods/tools;
4.    Strong leadership, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills
5.    Fluent in English and good presentation skills;
6.    Familiar with MS software;
7.    Familiar with Problem Solving Methodology.
8.    Ability to think critically and synthesize complex information into clear, strategic insights.

Our internship program typically runs May thru August and gives students the opportunity to work on projects that contribute to the success of their team and build on their classroom experience. Throughout the 10–12-week program, interns will be provided with:

Timeline
TE Connectivity recruits on campus between September and March for New Grad (FT), Rotational, Internship and Co-op positions beginning in May. Once you have applied to a position, your resume and application will be reviewed. If you are selected to move to the next step in the application process, you will be contacted by a recruiter. Once you accept an offer, the onboarding process will begin in January for interns who have committed to offers in the fall semester and upon acceptance for interns who have committed to offers in the spring semester.
