Job Overview

Provides guidance and leadership on manufacturing processes in order to support organizational manufacturing goals; performs research on products and manufacturing process and share the same with senior engineers.

What your background should look like

Professional Experience
 3 to 5 years of experience as a molding engineer
 Personnel management

 

Specific Knowledge and Skills 
 

 RJG MM1 certification or equivalent experience
 Knowledge of SAP
 Drawing software.
 Interpretation of product drawings.
 Time and motion/process studies. 
 Execution of 27P / 53 P 
 CTR (Cycle Time Reduction) 1 and 2 
 Interpret and match Edart charts. 
 Office software management. 
 Exercise effective leadership. 
 Knowledge of statistics preferred 
 Ability to lead projects 
 Management and coaching in identifying root cause problem solving (8Ds) 
 Skills in process improvements with a positive impact on COPQ. 
 Intermediate/advanced English

 


Responsibilities and authority
 Responsible for developing and maintaining Process Flow Diagrams. 
 Responsible for developing and maintaining PFMEAS in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team. 
 Responsible for developing and updating Set-up Sheets. 
 Responsible for developing and updating Operator Instruction Sheets. 
 Responsible for monitoring and improving KPIs (OEE, Scrap, downtime). 
 Responsible for planning, developing, and maintaining Manufacturing Processes (time studies, line balancing, 
ergonomics, layouts). 
 Responsible for reviewing Bills of Materials (BOM). 
 Support in the development of and participation in Control Plans. 
 Responsible for developing and updating process tools. 
 Responsible for training technical molding personnel on best practices. 
 Support in the implementation and monitoring of Engineering Changes in the process. 
 Responsible for participating in the Plant's Continuous Improvement Programs. 
 Responsible for managing support staff for the Department. 
 Identify candidates and execute CTR 1 and CTR 2 (cycle time reduction). 
 Identify candidates for MWR and its implementation. 
 Validate molds using the 53 P / 27 P methodology. 
 Responsible for managing the support staff assigned to your area. 
 Support in the analysis of tool and equipment capabilities for new part numbers and changes in quoted volumes.
 Responsible for equipment transfer projects (molds, presses, peripheral equipment).
 Coaching in root cause analysis and high effectiveness in solving complex problems.
 Takes actions to reduce environmental impact, as well as activities to comply with the ISO14001 standard.

 Authority to stop a process that could harm the environment and/or is not in compliance with 
environmental laws.
