Job Overview

The Manufacturing & Process Development Engineer I – Electrical is responsible for the development, implementation, validation, and maintenance of electrical test systems used for cable assemblies and harnesses. This role ensures products meet customer electrical requirements by creating and updating test programs, designing test fixtures and circuits, calibrating testing equipment, and supporting new product introductions (NPI). The engineer works closely with Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering teams to guarantee reliable testing processes and uninterrupted production support.

What your background should look like

  • Technical Degree, Associate Degree, or Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

  • 1-2 years of experience in electrical, electronic, manufacturing, or industrial environments.
  • Experience developing, troubleshooting, or maintaining electrical testing systems.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing operations and process improvements.

Technical Knowledge

  • SAP and basic Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Dynalab programming.
  • Cirris programming.
  • Electrical test system development and validation.
  • HIPOT testing and electrical verification methods.
  • Electronic components and electrical circuit fundamentals.
  • IPC standards and manufacturing specifications.

Technical Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Design and fabrication of electrical test fixtures and test boards.
  • Calibration and troubleshooting of electrical test equipment.
  • Hands-on experience with workshop tools such as soldering irons, saws, and machining equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, program, and maintain electrical test programs for production and NPI products.
  • Interpret electrical drawings and schematics to create test circuits and testing programs.
  • Determine and specify components required for electrical test fixtures, including pins, connectors, and cables.
  • Design, build, and maintain electrical test boards, holders, and routing systems.
  • Calibrate and troubleshoot electrical testing equipment to ensure accurate and reliable performance.
  • Support production by diagnosing and resolving test equipment and process issues.
  • Release and validate electrical test systems in collaboration with Quality and Manufacturing teams.
  • Implement engineering changes and update existing electrical testing programs as required.
  • Participate in new harness reviews and NPI activities requiring electrical testing solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety requirements, and EHS standards.
  • Support continuous improvement and Kaizen initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and workplace safety.
  • Participate in quality, engineering, and operational review meetings as needed.
