Responsibilities
- Basic understanding of industrial automation systems and manufacturing equipment integration for cable assembly and harness manufacturing processes.
- Basic knowledge of PLC-based control systems, HMI development, industrial networks, sensors, actuators, servo systems, and vision systems.
- Support the definition, installation, and validation of automation equipment required for new product launches.
- Participate in equipment commissioning, startup, debugging, and functional validation activities.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of electrical schematics, control documentation, software backups, and automation standards.
- Support I/O validation, communication testing, machine safety verification, and troubleshooting activities.
- Basic understanding of machine safety requirements, interlocks, and risk mitigation practices.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Operations, EHS, and suppliers to ensure successful equipment implementation.
- Support equipment capitalization, technical documentation, purchase requisitions (PRs), and purchase orders (POs) related to automation systems.
- Assist in identifying automation improvements that enhance productivity, quality, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Capture and share lessons learned and maintain project documentation within TE project management systems.
- Support development and execution of Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and process validation activities.
- Provide technical support during pilot builds, qualification runs, and SOP readiness activities.
- Troubleshoot control system issues and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, Controls Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 1–3 years of experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, manufacturing engineering, machine integration, or automated production environments.
- Basic knowledge of PLC programming, HMI systems, industrial networks, sensors, actuators, servo drives, and machine control systems.
- Experience supporting equipment commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, validation, or continuous improvement activities is preferred.
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as EtherNet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, or similar networks.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, control drawings, and automation documentation.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, automated assembly equipment, and machine safety principles.
- Experience working in a cross-functional environment supporting NPI (New Product Introduction), production, quality, and operations teams is preferred.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in Spanish and English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience with automation software platforms and data analysis tools is a plus.
- Willingness to travel up to 15% to support equipment suppliers, manufacturing sites, commissioning activities, and product launches.
