MATERIALS PLANNING ANALYST III

Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Materials Planning Teams are responsible for the plans, schedules, and monitoring of the movement of material through the production cycle. They determine quantity and order date for materials to meet production or engineering schedules, initiate purchase or production requisitions compliant with supply agreements, and develop the schedule to be used in the production facility based on forecasts and historical analysis. The Team develops specifications for new contract orders as well as forecasts and plans for labor requirements. They provide timely and accurate input on supplier performance and may be asked to participate in higher level supplier performance reviews with the strategic sourcing team. They also monitor cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value.

What your background should look like:

Responsibilities and authority

  • Develop and issue executable production schedules for assigned work centers
  • Verify available capacity and materials
  • Monitor and adjust production schedule to respond to changes in supply or demand
  • Plan flow of work through the manufacturing plant, considering raw materials and shipping dates of finished products
  • Alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions
  • Monitor lead times and lead time offsets in the system to reflect flow and lean manufacturing principles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; preferably in Business Administration or Supply Chain Master's Degree/MBA strongly preferred 
  • At least 3 years’ experience as Production or Materials Planner 
  • Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment strongly preferred
  • Automotive industry experience strongly preferred

Specific qualification, knowledge and skills

  • Strong Computer skills; SAP R/3, Rapid Response-Kinaxis, MS Office (Excel, Power Point, and Word).
  • Fluent in English and local language, both written and spoken
  • Capability to drive and sustain performance improvements
  • Team player
  • Superior product knowledge
  • APICS qualification highly desirable
