Job Overview

Provides technical and engineering expertise for exploration, analysis, testing, and research of products and processes across functions. 

Reduce equipment or machinery downtime and ensure maximum availability, reduce manual intervention, and minimize equipment failures.
 
Responsabilities and authority:
Document corrective, preventive, and predictive actions performed to eliminate equipment failures in the corresponding logs.
Participate in plant audits and general activities (brigades, 5S audits, LPA, BBS, etc.) and actively contribute to the continuous improvement of machinery and equipment, supporting the manufacturing engineer.
Observe and comply with the LOTO system requirements.
Use the change control formats AHF070-QU and/or AHF089-QU as applicable.
Execute root cause analysis methodologies (QRM, brainstorming, fishbone diagram, and 5 Whys) for failures related to control and vision systems.
Coordinate the implementation of actions resulting from root cause analysis for failures related to control and vision systems.
Perform timely repairs on critical equipment or stations within the area.
Analyze failures based on equipment performance history, supported by the interpretation of electrical, pneumatic, or mechanical drawings to carry out corrective, preventive, or predictive actions, ensuring proper operation and compliance with safety standards and the environmental management system.
Develop and document improvement projects aimed at reducing downtime, increasing equipment availability, and reducing scrap.
Work on corrective actions related to internal and external customer complaints.
Train other team members as needed.
Solve problems with minimal supervision, using problem-solving methodologies (DMAIC, A3, 8D).
Perform analysis for the implementation of predictive maintenance on critical equipment.
Be responsible for understanding the environmental aspects and impacts specific to their work area.
Rationalize the use of chemical products used in the work area.
Carry out actions to reduce environmental impact, as well as activities required for compliance with ISO 14001 standards.
Hold the authority to stop a process if there is a possibility of damaging the environment and/or if it is not in legal environmental compliance.

Job Requirements

Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related field.
Professional Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a similar role (preferred).

Technical Skills & Competencies:
-PLC/HMI programming (Siemens, Allen‑Bradley, Omron).
-Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
-Root‑cause analysis and problem‑solving methodologies: 5 Why, Ishikawa, A3, 8D.
-Servo motor programming and automation system integration.
-Robot programming (any major brand: Fanuc, ABB, Kuka, etc.).
-Knowledge of LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) and machine safety systems.
-Intermediate English level.

Nice to Have: Experience with machine vision systems and sensor calibration (not mandatory).
