Job Overview
The Co-Planning Analyst supports the end-to-end supply planning process for key customers by connecting customer demand, production capacity, material availability, and site execution.
This role works cross-functionally with Planning, Procurement, Operations, Customer Delivery, and other Supply Chain teams to ensure demand requirements are translated into realistic supply plans, while proactively identifying gaps and risks that could impact customer commitments.
Role Focus
The position provides visibility from customer demand, capacity, materials, production plan, supply risk, enabling early identification of constraints and facilitating cross-functional actions before they impact customer delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze customer demand, forecasts, backlog, and production requirements to identify potential supply and capacity gaps.
- Monitor material availability, component coverage, lead times, purchase orders, and other supply constraints that may impact the production plan.
- Support the alignment of forecast, capacity, material availability, MPS, and build plans across the planning horizon.
- Identify supply, capacity, and execution risks early and coordinate the appropriate actions with Planning, Procurement, Operations, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain visibility of key customer supply-chain performance, including shortages, coverage, backlog, inventory, production attainment, and delivery risks.
- Support weekly planning reviews, customer control-tower activities, and cross-functional supply meetings.
- Track action plans, owners, due dates, and escalations to ensure timely closure of critical supply-chain issues.
- Perform root-cause and gap analysis and support the development of recovery and mitigation plans.
- Prepare supply-chain analysis, dashboards, reports, and executive-level summaries to support decision-making.
- Ensure planning data and assumptions are accurate, aligned, and updated across the relevant systems and reporting tools.
- Support continuous improvement and standardization of planning processes, tools, metrics, and governance.
What your background should look like
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field.
- 6+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Planning, Materials Management, Procurement, or Manufacturing Operations.
- Solid understanding of Supply Chain and Production Planning concepts, including:
- Demand and Forecast Planning
- Material Requirements Planning (MRP)
- Master Production Scheduling (MPS)
- Production / Build Planning
- Material Availability and Shortage Management
- Inventory Management
- Capacity Planning
- Lead Time and Supply Coverage
- Working knowledge of SAP, particularly planning and material-management processes.
- Ability to understand and analyze MRP signals, planned orders, purchase orders, production requirements, inventory, and material shortages.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, formulas, data analysis, and management of large datasets.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify supply gaps, constraints, trends, and risks.
- Ability to coordinate activities across Planning, Procurement, Operations, Customer Delivery, and other cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication and follow-up skills, including action tracking and escalation of critical issues.
- Ability to work with multiple priorities and customer requirements in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- English proficiency sufficient to participate in meetings, prepare reports, and communicate with global teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a high-volume or complex manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting key customers or customer-focused Supply Chain programs.
- Knowledge of SAP transactions and planning tools related to MRP, MPS, inventory, purchase orders, and production planning.
- Experience with S&OP, S&OE - IBP, demand planning, capacity planning, or supply planning processes.
- Experience developing or maintaining Supply Chain dashboards and KPIs.
- Knowledge of Power BI, Power Query, SAP IBP, or other data visualization/planning tools is a plus.
- Understanding of BOM structures, component-to-Finished-Good relationships, and material coverage analysis.
- Experience with root-cause analysis, risk mitigation, recovery plans, and continuous improvement.
