Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Continuous Improvement Teams design and implement programs and projects to improve products, services, or processes aligned with business strategies. They coach teams; establish program performance metrics; and establish process excellence supports.

What your background should look like:

Responsibilities:
Partners with the CI Manager for North America sites on the implementation, coordination, and evaluation of lean within the value streams in the transformation to eliminate waste and achieve targets.
Responsible for coordinating with the Site Process Leader the inclusion of improvement recommendations and benchmarking practices into the TE Operational Advantage System Design.
Supports the integration of previously unconnected processes (departments) into one interconnected extended value stream as seen from the customer’s perspective.
Supports the development and utilization of current and future state value stream maps.
Foster the adoption of continuous improvement as a way of life, creating a culture of change.
Work with internal/external suppliers and customers on improving the total enterprise (extended VSM) using the TE operational advance system.
Assist in defining and supporting standardized programs to educate employees on the principles of Lean Manufacturing.
Assist in the identification and cross-leverage of best practices across the entire North American operation.
Build strong and positive working relationships with all functional areas.
Provides training for all North American sites in TE tracking system usage and cost savings classification.
Track internal and operation material productivity cost savings projects for recurrent savings status reports.
Collaborate with CI site leaders, COE, and Digital teams.
With finance support, understand the commit forecast for each month and work on conversion savings reports to all North American Sites.
Assist in developing and deploying accountability processes and employing problem-solving methodologies.
Promote the consistent application of the lean methodology and standard work in alignment with CI peers and CI site/process leader.
Spend site time between Mexico operations to understand the needs of the operation and get involved and/or plan kaizen events, coaching, and training sessions.

Qualifications:
Must be a certified Lean Practitioner or willing to acquire within the first year
.
3-5 years of professional experience with a focus on production, logistics, or engineering and financial knowledge
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field required, Master preferred.
At least 2 years of experience in leading continuous improvement activities on a site level.
Highly energized and self-motivated with experience working with teams to implement change.
Strong planning/organization and time management skills.
Track record of successful project management.
Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time effectively.
Fluent English is essential.
Working knowledge of the manufacturing processes (automotive industry is a plus).
Have the patience, perseverance, and passion to drive the continuous improvement culture across the NA sites.
Credibility and experience to work effectively and directly with the senior on-site leadership team.
Excellent communication and coaching skills at all levels to get everyone on board, from the shop floor to top management (Strong team leader) (cross-functionally).
Ability to think strategically and execute tactically (i.e., deliver results)
Analytically minded and data-driven. The candidate must also have a holistic overview of complex situations and deal effectively with difficult issues when they arise.
Open to travel between Auto North America sites.

Compensation  
Competitive pay commensurate with experience: $XX to $XX per hour (subject to change dependent on physical location)
