Job Overview
This critical role serves as the single point of contact for all assigned projects, overseeing their development and implementation from start to finish. The ideal candidate is a highly organized leader with strong financial and technical acumen, capable of driving cross-functional and cross-business unit teams. This position provides hands-on leadership for high-profile New Product Development (NPD), Advanced Development Projects (ADP), Technology Development Projects (TDP), Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE), and sustaining initiatives across the Americas region.
Job Requirements
Essential Functions:
- Lead Core Teams to achieve project objectives, holding team members accountable for results.
- Manage project scope, schedule, and budget to align with business unit financial plans and goals for on-time delivery and quality.
- Proactively assess risks and implement countermeasures; establish clear escalation paths.
- Plan and lead Stage Gate reviews, ensuring integrity of deliverables per established processes.
- Utilize enterprise-level project systems to manage plans, data, and actions.
- Maintain accurate project schedules in Planisware, incorporating input from team members, customers, and stakeholders.
- Identify and secure necessary project resources.
- Conduct regular status meetings with internal teams and external customers.
- Provide both planned and ad-hoc reporting and analysis, using data to drive accountability and results.
- Collaborate with functional teams to validate product feasibility, process technology, and operational strategy alignment.
- Analyze cross-functional data to identify cost improvement opportunities and evaluate proposals.
- Build and lead Core Teams using internal and external resources; communicate resource needs and workload commitments to managers.
- Lead milestone reviews with business segment leadership as needed.
- Manage Capex spending in alignment with financial plans.
- Clearly communicate roles, expectations, and accountabilities; facilitate issue resolution and escalate as needed.
- Track lessons learned, cost savings initiatives, and best practices.
- Conduct project closeout meetings and post-project reviews.
- Perform costing reviews as required.
What your background should look like
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Operations.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing large-scale, complex projects.
- Fluency in English and Spanish (reading, writing, speaking) is highly desirable.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage all levels of the organization, including executive leadership.
- Solid understanding of general accounting principles.
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, including injection molding and assembly.
- Proven experience managing NPD, capacity, replacement, and process transfer projects.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet scope, schedule, and budget targets.
- Strong analytical and logical thinking skills.
- Familiarity with AIAG PPAP change management and customer notification requirements.
- Ability to work independently and remotely within a virtual team environment.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 25%)
