Job Overview
TE Connectivity’s Product Engineering Teams optimize existing products from information or input provided by marketing, customers, Operation Teams, Development Engineers or other employees. They maintain existing products, processes, and specifications including modifications for new applications consistent with manufacturing techniques and economies. They also initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, and cost, while meeting customer requirements and may support and implement product extensions to existing platform products to meet specific customer requirements. They are the key experts in the products they are responsible for at TE.

Job Overview
The Product Development Engineer is responsible for new products development, sustaining activities on existing products in conjunction with internal/external teams (Product Management, Project/Program Management, Sales and Customer).
Conceives original ideas for new products and reduces them into a practice. Is responsible for product development and qualification from market/customer definition through production and release. Supports suppliers and teams for new products to ensure that suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services for new or improved manufacturing processes.
Supports team members with design, testing, prototype fabrication and manufacturing ramp. Provides all required product documentation including, but not limited to, model, production drawings, product specifications, all related documents and testing requirements.


Responsibilities & Qualifications;
•    Drive the product requirements and specifications related to the customer specific needs
•    Evaluate the criteria for mass production, advise customer and Product Management where needed proposing alternatives if necessary
•    Define the necessary components, work on Bill of Materials, research for alternatives
•    Build a process operation, work on tools and testing environment where required
•    Calculate the end product cost price 
•    Work on customer’s samples, lead the sample testing and approval process
•    Manage the sustaining activities on a given products
•    Support production sites on released manufactured products.
•    Work on environmental product requirements

 

Key Qualifications, Experiences & Knowledge:
•    Bachelor/master engineering degree in electrical/electronic/mechatronic disciplines
•    Several years on the job experience in Product Design (cable assembly experience is preferred)
•    Fully acquainted with CAD/CREO systems and other common software
•    Knowledge about product manufacturing
•    Experience in materials engineering preferred
•    English, speaking and writing is a must
