Job Overview

This position will require sustaining engineering responsibility for various electromechanical products (transformers, relays, contactors) and be involved in several engineering related projects.  The projects will include platforming / cost reduction, product extension/NPI, along with manufacturing location changes in the short term.  The position will require a high level of Manufacturing process experience combined with product design and performance understanding.  Must be a highly driven individual capable of working with a variety of teams (including Operations and Product Management) in order to drive and implement action items.  This position will serve as the key product engineering representative in the manufacturing plant to support manufacturing, component, documentation, and quality issues as they arise.  Will also be required to organize project meetings across multiple disciplines, publish minutes and action items, and prepare progress updates and reports to management as needed. 

What your background should look like:
  • Five or more years’ experience in electro-mechanical design and/or manufacturing / sustaining engineering.
  • Possesses and applies knowledge of Product Engineering principles, practices and procedures, including understanding of manufacturing technologies such as stamping, plating, molding, assembly and machine application. 
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks at once, develop project plans, and drive engineering and cost reduction projects across multiple disciplines to improve business performance.
  • Excellent written/verbal English communication skills; ability to participate in and lead productive, multi-functional meetings and projects.
  • Working knowledge of various metal and plastic materials, manufacturing processes and electro-mechanical product design principles. 
  • Ability to work across multiple disciplines to solve manufacturing, quality, and performance issues of electromechanical products such as transformers, contactors, and relays.
  • Familiar with various Engineering and Project Management tools such as LEAN / 6-sigma, DoE, FEMA, Value Stream mapping, Microsoft Project, etc. 
  • Experience with AutoCAD / Creo software and ability to design and modify product components, assemblies, and drawings a plus.
  • Ability to work independently of others as well as in a team setting; driven to meet and exceed assigned work and be held accountable for results.
